When automobiles came to Chico, he started one of the first gasoline stations. This house is known for innovations and inventions. Mr. Stewart was one of the first to plant rice in Butte County and he also developed the first peach slicing machine. For the Decorator’s Dream House, local community decorators and designers were invited into the house to give each room a makeover with a different theme that represented a time period from the history of the home.
