McElmo Inn with Hot Tub & Pond

A family friendly/group/work travelers Southwest house rental. The McElmo Inn is situated on 18 acres in Southwest Colorado, bordering the Canyons of the Ancients and the Ute Tribal Nation. The McElmo Inn is truly in the heart of Anasazi country. Teepee is currently down for the fall and winter seasons The space Please don’t ask we do not allow pets of any kind. No smoking inside of house No fires of any kind or fireworks are allowed on property WiFi can be spotty in the canyon. WiFi may go out during your stay and we cannot guarantee that it will go back up right away We do not decorate the house for holidays. If you are staying during a certain holiday and would like decorations- please bring your own. There is also a Walmart located in Cortez that you can go shopping at for decorations. Some of the basic details of the space. There is a 65 inch tv and in the living room. The cable has many music channels that you can put on and listen to through the tv. There is a large back deck off the living room and there is a grill and a hot tub located there. Grill is propane. Please let us know if you run out of propane during your stay. If we have a back up we will let you know otherwise you will be responsible for filling it if you want to continue to use grill. The master bedroom is located upstairs and there is a small balcony that you can walk out on. This balcony is located above the deck. There are four separate bathrooms for each room. Every bathroom has its own toilet and shower. Two of the bathrooms have tubs. The master bathroom has a separate shower and a separate jet tub. You have full access to everything on the main floor and the 2nd floor. We give you the basics and stock each bathroom with one roll of toilet paper. Your group will be in charge of refilling it up if your run out. You are in charge of stocking the house with what your group will use during your stay. Coffee maker is a standard coffee maker. Each of the beds come with blankets, sheets and pillows. There is no house cleaning during your stay. You need to supply your own laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and dishwasher detergent (if you plan to use washer/dryer and dishwasher), coffee, etc. No fires or fireworks of any kind allowed on the outside of property!!!! No campfires of any kind allowed Pond loses water during winter and fills back up when the county turns on water in spring** Please do not go on pond when it is frozen for the safety of those in your group. There is a separate apartment on the lower level of the house. This apartment will be occupied during your stay-any questions just ask before booking. You will not have access to this lower level unit of the house and the apartment tenant does not have access to the house. There is a sign on the door that states: No Access. There are separate entrances and each area has their own space. You do not have to worry about anyone accessing your space during the rental. The lower back patio area belongs to this apartment and your group will not be able to use the lower level patio area. (The top back deck is your space during the rental) Please let everyone in your group know that this area is not part of your rental. Any questions please message us! Guest access You will have access to the property. There is a pond on the property with a dock and you can hang out there and fish for the day. Please bring your own fishing poles/lures/bait if you would like to fish. Our pond has catfish, sunfish, and large mouth bass but is not stocked annually. Our pond is a catch and release pond. The pond is a private pond so you do not need a fishing license to fish on it. Please do not walk across the ice on the pond during the winter for the safety of your group. The hot tub, and pond are the common areas of the property. These areas may be shared with others on the property. The hot tub jets do not work-please do not try to turn them on. The only area we ask you to avoid is the area under the deck on the back of the house (the lower back patio area). There is a separate apartment attached to this house. This apartment may or may not be empty but this area is restricted during your rental. The lower back patio belongs to this apartment. Please do not access this part of the house! We live in a barn on the back of the property. Please do not block access to the back part of the driveway. Your vehicles will need to be parked in the front driveway of the house during your stay. Most check in/check out times can be accommodating- please just ask us for an early check in or a late check out if needed and we will see if we can try to work something out.
