Home in Woodstock
Description
We are right in the heart of town, yet nicely tucked away and surrounded by nature and animals where it's peaceful and quiet. The mountains are right behind us. Only 4 min. walk from the great shops and restaurants of historic Woodstock. The Trailways Bus Stop is a short 5 min walk from our property. Please make sure to read our detailed description. The space Woodstock Haven is our Home & Peace of Mind. It gives us serenity and we hope it will do the same for you. We rent out our entire first floor when we are traveling. It is our actual home that we love to share with you and thus a bit more personal than a short term rental that you can often find on Airbnb nowadays. Additionally, we try to offer our open space on the 2nd floor when we can and it will be stated in our updates below. On the first floor, our guests enjoy 2 private rooms, a guest bathroom, an open floor dining and living room, full kitchen, a screened in porch, access to our big garden with an additional stone patio, a private stream and lots more. Please read about our space, layout and rooms below for more info. General: As we strive to consume less energy on this planet and keep the costs at its actual usage, we are asking you to be diligent using our heat and A/C. Make sure you always turn off the A/C's or heat when you're not in the spaces you are using it in. Since your bedrooms are small, it will heat up and cool down really fast. We are also providing one electric heater that heats up a room first and prefer that when you are mostly located in one room (at night for example). The heating unit will heat up the entire first floor – which is fine as long as you’re in it. In addition, we have one standing fan for the summer. We would love for you to water our few inside house plants while you're here. If that does not suit you, we happily discuss coordinating someone come in to do that. Unless otherwise listed, you will have full privacy in the house. We have the highest internet speed available in Woodstock, as well as a 25ft ethernet cable available in the TV room closet. Please refer to our house rules not to roast any meats in our stove (fish is fine, please use a sheet pan underneath!). No cooking of bacon or pork at any time. We have separate pots and pans for meats including chicken in your pantry area. Otherwise help yourself to anything you can find in the kitchen. We prefer for all guests to take off your shoes. But do as you're comfortable. There is a no shoe policy at all times on the 2nd floor. No exceptions. Description of our House: The guest area consists of the entire first floor, which includes one guest Bedroom and one "TV room" that has a queen size pullout couch), one bathroom, a sunken living room, dining space, screened in porch, kitchen and hallway. Please do read our detailed description below to see if this is for you. We prefer guests who have reviews, unless we would be able to meet you in person beforehand or are present during your time of stay and give you a great first review :-). We are located in an excellent location!!! - right behind Tinker Street - but still tucked away. It is nice and quiet.
