The space General Details - Built in 2017, this custom home is all electric, zero energy, and LEED for Homes Platinum certified. Every detail of the home was judiciously selected and measured against high industry standards for performance, environmental impact, and durability. Some highlights of the home include solar PV, air-source heat pump for heating/cooling, exposed solid reclaimed red oak post and beams supports, 100% recycled content countertops with partial maple butcher block, dual flush toilets, and LED lighting, etc. The dining room has built-in benches hugging a farmhouse table. Decor is modern with an industrial vibe and beautiful Turkish textiles peppered throughout each space. Bedrooms - There are 4 bedrooms, all medium to large in size. One bedroom is on the first floor and three additional bedrooms are located on the second floor. Three of the bedrooms have full-size beds and the master bedroom (second floor) has a queen-size bed. All beds have fresh and fluffy 100% cotton bedding with high thread count. Kitchen/Living Room/Multipurpose - The first floor is an open floor plan layout. The kitchen is connected to the dining room and living room. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glassware, cast iron pans and pots, silverware, coffee pot (both keurig and stainless steel french press), tea pot, and complimentary coffee, tea for your morning fix. There is also a multipurpose room off the kitchen that has a built-in workstation. Bathrooms - There are 2.5 bathrooms in the home with plenty of freshly cleaned hand and bath towels provided along with several toiletries. Laundry Room - Laundry room available in the upstairs bathroom and outfitted with an HE washer and condensing dryer. Just fyi, these units are smaller than the average washer/dryer units and will take longer to dry the clothes. There is also a clothes rack available as well. Exterior - Irregular flagstone outdoor patio area with an oversized picnic table under a pergola and plenty of seating. Breeo smokeless fire pit and a BBQ gas grill for cooking. Plus, a trampoline, swings, garden, and (small) frog pond for kids enjoyment. Driveway - The house is accessible via long, curved crushed stone driveway with plenty of parking. There is a motion sensor exterior light on the side of the house that will light up when you pull up upper most part of the driveway- this will provide light as you walk toward the entrance if arriving at night. A rustic tranquility retreat. Guest access Guests have full access to the house. There is no basement or garage. Plenty of parking in the driveway. The house is a less than 10 min drive to Cayuga Lake via Taughannock Falls, 2 mins if going to Ithaca Yacht Club, 12 minutes to Ithaca College and Cornell University, 15 min to Robert Treman and Buttermilk State Park, and 20 minutes to Watkins Glen. Picturesque driving tours to both Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake wineries and breweries - its a must do! An Empire Pass is available to use during your stay and will give you free parking at any of the state parks! Other things to note Internet - Unfortunately, there isn't high-speed internet infrastructure available on our street yet, BUT the house has wifi internet via a Verizon Hotspot (plugged-in upstairs room to the left). The hotspot works well, but the start-up can be slow, especially if you are streaming a movie. Internet is important and we are on the lookout for better connection options in the future. Water - The house is on a well and we do need to be mindful of water consumption. We just ask you dont take multiple showers back to back. 2 max, then please spread them out just a little bit. All water is UV filtered with superb drinking water quality. We would also really appreciate it if you could please remove your shoes upon entering the home. This house is a gem. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
