Heat, air conditioning. Kid and baby friendly. Kitchenette, dining area, and fireplace in common room. Patio. Washer and dryer. Quiet neighborhood in a pastoral setting with great views. Close to Asheville and outdoor activities. Welcome all! The space Entire home was recently rebuilt, including lower-level guest suite. Private entrance with one step. Parking for 1 car at suite and for 2 other cars nearby. 1 king bed in large master bedroom; 1 queen in bedroom #2; 1 full and 1 bunk bed in bedroom #3; futon and crib in bedroom #4. Linens provided. Fully furnished kitchenette (microwave, toaster oven, large induction plate, small refrigerator, and sink), dining area, and fireplace in the large common room. Good wifi but no television. Large dry patio with 180° view of the Black Mountains (including Mt. Mitchell, the highest mountain in eastern America), the Blue Ridge, and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Less than 10 minutes to shopping and good restaurants in Burnsville, a picaresque and friendly country town. 2 minutes to a fun children’s playground and Parkway Playhouse (theatre). Easy drive through our beautiful mountains to galleries and over 100 arts and crafts studios. 15 minutes to dark sky astronomical observatory. Only 45 minutes to Asheville—beer, restaurants, music, nature center, art, crafts, gardens, Biltmore House. 80 minutes to Boone. Burnsville is a great central starting point for outdoor activities and for attending mountain festivals, music performances, and plays. Close to Mt. Mitchell, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Roan Mountain (but they may be closed in winter) and to national parks and state and national forest parks and campgrounds. Close to golf courses, waterfalls, excellent hiking trails, and cool fishing and wading steams. Challenging biking on both roads and trails. 1-2 hours to great outdoor adventures: rafting, tubing, snow skiing, horseback riding, zip-lining, and hiking (we like the short hikes to waterfalls and to high bald mountains on the Appalachian Trail!). 2 hours to Cherokee and the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We are knowledgeable about the area and can give good advice about things to do. We live upstairs and are usually around, but the guest suite has a separate entrance so we do not need to interact with you if you need your privacy. We have a Ring doorbell on our front door, so we can see when you drive down the driveway, but there are no other cameras or microphones on the premises. Guest access Our large guest suite (over 1200 sq. ft.) takes up the lower level in our large mountain home. Parking for 1 car at the suite and for 2 other cars 100 feet up the driveway. Access to large, private, dry patio and to small grassy yard. Landscaping is ongoing but all areas are available to guests and kid-safe. Apartment may be accessible to guests with walker or crutches: one step at entrance, small bathroom. Other things to note State and county taxes, $25 cleaning fee, and Airbnb fee will be added to advertised rental price.
