She's had many updates, yet retains her quirks, spaciousness and lots of character. Your 2nd floor room is right at the top of the stairs. It has a large window which looks out into the trees on the south side of the house. Dover is very accessible on foot from here. It's a picturesque two minutes to the downtown DE State University campus (formerly Wesley College), 10 minutes to Silver Lake Park, 10-20 minutes to downtown Dover's shops, restaurants, library, churches, museums and the famous Historic Green, as well as Spence's Bazaar and Amish market. Bally's Casino and NASCAR track are a bit farther, but still walkable. The city of Dover is also home to Delaware State University main campus, Dover Air force Base, and Legislative Mall surrounded by the government offices of 'The First State.' Popular drivable destinations include Delaware beaches, tax-free outlet shopping, and Ferry to Cape May NJ (45 mins), Philadelphia PA (90 mins), Washington DC (2 hrs), New York City (4hrs). Spring and Summer parades can sometimes be watched from the front porch 🥁 Guest access Park on the street right in front of the house In addition to the front porch, you are also welcome to enjoy other public areas in the house, including kitchen, large dining room, and living room, and back deck. There is also a powder room available downstairs in case of high traffic in the full bath near guest rooms. You are welcome to use the kitchen, but we use it everyday, so if you need it, give us a heads up and we can better prepare. During your stay I'm nearly always here and available, but cell number is posted in guest rooms. Airbnb app is also used frequently. Other things to note PLEASE BE AWARE THERE ARE CATS LIVING HERE, though they are not allowed in guest room.
