Beyond a b & b experience- full privacy, no cleaning required, breakfast provided! You will be warmly welcomed & comfy. Duplex style with private entrance, we offer an artsy farmhouse suite with living room, bedroom and bathroom. No kitchen. We provide local, organic breakfasts. Organic linens, natural latex mattress and coffee/tea bar. We are an organic, chemical-FREE house: no off-gassing, no plug-ins, etc. House is on well water; h20 has a slight sulphur smell. NO WIFI, YES ethernet . Presently we have 1 friendly German Shepherd ( Liebe: a youngy who barks and is a bit forward in her greeting but is super friendly) and 2 cats; Kitten and Fledermaus. Let us know if you'd rather not have a meet and greet with the dog for any reason, and we will contain her. Let us know in advance if you will need the second sleeping surface (small couch topped with futon) made up. We provide a pot of freshly ground, locally roasted coffee every morning, if desired. We no longer serve breakfast in our dining room, but do provide home made organic granola, yogurt and dairy or plant milk, fruit, juice, snacks and other yummy things for you to enjoy in your suite. We accommodate individual food preferences and needs. Dishes are washed and returned to the room daily, water crock is refilled, clean towels and linens are all provided (of course!) Guests are not expected to strip beds, but are expected to leave the rooms in good condition. We ask that you remove outdoor shoes when entering the suite- there is a tray for them next to the door. The suite consists of the bedroom, a bathroom, and an adjoining living room, which we do not allow animals to be in. Guests with pet allergies have told us they had no problem and enjoyed their stay without allergy flare ups. In the living room is a leather couch and a modern-style fold out couch/sleeping platform made of foam which we top with a futon, comfortable but not long enough for tall people. Please let us know IN ADVANCE if you will require the extra bed to be made up. There is a mini fridge, an electric kettle and fresh supply of assorted teas, instant coffee, snacks and a crock with spring water. The attached bathroom has a fully tiled shower, wall heater, and amenities. We are on well water which is chlorine free and healthier than the local tap water, but has a bit of a sulphur smell. Sulphur is very good for the skin and taken internally- and we ourselves hardly notice it- but in the interest of full disclosure I mention it here- some may not like it. As mentioned above, we do provide spring water to drink. We are a non chemical using household. We use natural cleaning products, (which are as effective as chemicals, non-polluting, and more effective over the long term because they do not encourage resistant bacteria) have only non chemically treated furniture, a sumptuous natural latex mattress, organic cotton sheets and towels, which we wash in fragrance free laundry soap, and fragrance free or essential oil scented amenities. There is a heat source pump heating and cooling unit in the suite outside the bedroom door, so the bedroom temperature is regulated as long as the bedroom door is open. IMPORTANT: We ask that you not use body mists, perfumes, men's cologne, hair spray or any airborne sprays in these rooms, and PLEASE do not spray anything directly on room surfaces. We are on a septic system, so only the toilet paper we provide goes into the toilet. Please be aware that our sweet old farmhouse was built in 1850, which means other parts of the house are still awaiting or undergoing our upgrades and renovations. We are a work in progress, but there is no intrusive renovating going on when guests are visiting. Guests are welcome to sit in the backyard by the garden and watch the sunset over a glass of wine, or on the side porch (don't recommend wine for watching the sunrise), or tea, or coffee or... whatever. We have a fire pit and plenty of wood scraps to make a nice campfire for you to grill over, or sit around and tell ghost stories. Also try the hammock- excellent napping opportunity there. We are here to be helpful and enjoy meeting new people and sharing what we know (and learning what we don't :-), but also we respect your privacy, and tend to be busy and feel confident our guests will respect our privacy as well. We are on an acre, as are our neighbors, and behind us is farmland, a lovely view, and a meandering tractor road which guests are welcome to walk. Across the street: cows! We are on a main route which trucks use, but guests have said it's very quiet. It certainly is if you're from the city! Check out our guidebook! TO REITERATE: We are on well water which has a sulphur smell. We have pets. Our house is not 100% renovated yet. NO wifi. Please remove your outdoor shoes upon entering. Indoor slippers are fine. No candle lighting, please. We cater to people with chemical sensitivities like our own: do not use sprays, perfumes, colognes or heavily scented products, please.
