Other things to note Please note, this cabin does not offer AC. However, with the windows open in the morning for fresh mountain air until noon, it keeps the cabin cool throughout the afternoon. The evenings are cool up here, as well. We have large portable and overhead fans in each room to pull the cool pine scented air into the cabin at night. The tankless water heater takes a bit to reach the kitchen just a heads up so please don't worry if theres not immediate hot water. Campfires: We have a firepit area located in the large open field across the road (east) in front of the cabin. Campfires are allowed depending on the wind; bon fires are never allowed. Use discretion. Please observe fire danger level at turn in off lake Mary Road - NO fires permitted when "fire danger is High". In the summer months, the forest is dry so careful to be vigilant about your fires. Call Highland Fire Dept and check with them to see if it’s OK to burn on certain days. Please use common sense when considering a campfire because high winds can be detrimental to your surroundings. And you don’t want to buy the forest, it’s very expensive. They tell us you “burn it, you buy it.”
