Our bright and airy 2-bedroom chalet (one double, one bunk bed) bungalow has direct access to the beach, a wood burning stove, refurbished shower bathroom and free parking. The chalet has open plan sociable kitchen/diner/living area overlooking Blue Anchor beach at the front and glimpses of the West Somerset steam Railway to the rear. Bedding, towels, electric and WIFI included. Perfect for couples and families wishing to relax, recharge or explore! No pets or smokers thank you. The space The chalet has been comfortably decorated. The kitchen has all the crockery needed and a four ring electric induction hob, electric oven, kettle, toaster, microwave. The dinning table has a mixture of chairs and stools. The open plan living/kitchen space also has a wood burning stove, perfect for keeping super cosy on cold winter days. The chalet is also heated by thermostat and on demand modern wall mounted electric heaters. The master bedroom overlooks the beach, with the smaller bedroom having a bunk bed (note top bunk only for use for a person 12 years and under). A travel cot for a younger child is also available, let us know if you need this. Bedding, towels, electric and fibre internet WIFI are all included in the price. The chalet is our holiday home where we regularly visit as a family. However we offer it to guests to use when we are not there. Why we love the chalet - The direct access to beach is wonderful (NB; there is a latched gate to ensure safety for children). In a few steps you can be on the beach - enjoying the quiet of the morning/evening, going for a swim, fishing or having a dig in the sand! - The views from the master bedroom and open plan kitchen/lounge area across Blue Anchor beach is stunning. On clear days you can see all the way to Wales. The sunsets are so beautiful and when darkness falls, the lights toward North Hill in Minehead are also really pretty to see from the sofa in the chalet. - Having two bedrooms and a separate living space is great. Perfect if you have children that go to bed earlier. The bottom bunk can be slept in by an adult. - The wood burner is a luxury and keeps you cosy and warm. Its just magical watching the fire. Bookings from October to March we will provide a 'starter' pack of kindling and wood for use of the wood burner during this time. - The location in Blue Anchor is super - Blue Anchor station for the West Somerset Railway is moments away, and Driftwood cafe for yummy breakfasts and other delicious treats is a very short stroll! ‘The Bay’ (part of the Hobourne caravan site) is open to non caravan guests, and serves teas and coffees, hot meals and light snacks. Occasionally there are events on in the evening (the Cafe is licensed). The Smugglers Inn is a walk along the sea front serving a range of ales and pub food. The Exmoor Explorer Bus stops nearby and the Steam Coast Trail for walks and biking is right on your doorstep. Nearby is Watchet (with vibrant weekly fair in the summer months & the art hubs of East Quay), Dunster (for a range of lovely independent shops or the National Trust owned castle and watermill) Minehead & Exmoor. - Whatever the weather - its lovely! In the summer its beautiful to enjoy the beach etc and also on more colder and wet days to sit by the fire and see the weather and waves roll in. The chalet is perfect for couples and families looking to rest, recharge and also explore the area. Guest access Guests will have access to all of the chalet Other things to note The chalet comes with basic things for young children - highchair, travel cot, plastic plates, cutlery etc, books and selection of beach spades/buckets you can use ;-) Blue Anchor is a small village located, with two local cafe's within walking distance. The Driftwood cafe serves hot food, yummy breakfasts, tea's and coffee's. ‘The Bay’ at the Hobourne caravan site (open to the public) sells tea/coffee, hot meals and light snacks. The sofa is not designed for any guests to sleep on overnight. No smokers or electric vapers, even if people smoke outside. No pets. Thank you.
