The Treehouse. An updated cabin from 1890
Welcome to the Treehouse, sitting 2,100 feet from the private community of Lake Hosea. It is less than 3 miles from Saluda with it's numerous restaurants and shops . Saluda is also a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts! The Treehouse is loaded with modern conveniences for your comfort while retaining its unique rustic feel. After your day of shopping, outdoor adventures or swimming and fishing at the lake relax in one of the many sitting areas on the screened wraparound porch. The space The Neighborhood: Lake Hosea is a private community for residents and their guests only. The lake is a wonder for swimming, fishing and non motorized boating. (floats and small inflatable raft provided). Please watch for the large family of ducks living on the lake. They are long time residents. We consider them family too! The Cabin: The Treehouse is over 120 years old. It is rustic and will transport guests to a simpler, less complicated time. It has been lovingly updated yet retains its original charm. A large loft has a new gel queen bed, sitting area with workspace and a Roku TV. The full bath has an antique clawfoot tub with a custom made copper curtain ring that gives tons of room for your shower . (please note this is a step in tub). There is a large bathmat in tub, if you look under mat you will find a patch where the glaze has rubbed off tub, about the size of a quarter. It is not a hole!! and what would a 130 year old cabin be without some character? Tub is fine for taking a bath. It is scoured between every guest. The cozy living room downstairs has comfy couch, plush wingback chairs, a propane heater, baseboard heat and buck stove. Another Roku TV lets you get plugged in and entertained. The downstairs has a half bath. It is small, commode only, with sink steps away in kitchen. It is mainly for guests to use at night who are sleeping in the downstairs Sun Suite. The sun plashed Sun Suite has a new queen gel mattress, a separate entrance and windows everywhere giving the guest a view to a gorgeous mountain sunrise. The cabin has all you need for a comfy stay from Egyptian cotton sheets, plush bath towels and washcloths to a contemporary kitchen. There is a spice rack, oil and vinegar and many other kitchen staples, including full coffee and tea service. Please keep items up and and away. After all these are the mountains your caution and comfort are key! Guest access self check Other things to note Pets require a non-refundable fee of 60 dollars Fee may be adjusted for longer stays and number of pets. All pets must be leashed in public areas in accordance with Lake Hosea guidelines. A washer and dryer is available for stays 4 nights or longer. Please note! Due to dam construction the lake has lost its normal size. The far side is now a pretty marsh surrounded by decks, benches and green space to relax, lay back and enjoy the beauty of Lake Hosea. Guests may enjoy and fishing. I provide floats and life jackets. previous guests have loved peaceful times on or around lake. The internet is DSL, all that is offered on the mountain. It is fine for streaming etc. but can be slow at times. The cabin is cooled by 2 AC units and many ceiling and floor fans. The AC is rarely needed but can be used to alleviate humidity during periods of rain.
