This isn't just a place to stay, it's an experience. We are not a luxurious hotel but unique country lodging with it's own, one of a kind charm. The Great Plains Bunk House is a modernized part of the Great Plains History complete with WiFi and central heat and AC. We are a NON-host lodging with country hospitality. Price is PER ROOM. Peaceful Country, neat-unique rooms with clear skies. Nearest town is 25 miles. Be sure to fuel up and grab some snacks. Perfect for individual stays or groups! The space We are located on the TAT! Fuel up and grab snacks, we are located 25 miles from any town. As you pull up you may think, “where are we?”, but as you settle in, our guest say, “We weren’t quite sure at first but we fell in love with so many things! Who knew THIS could be out here? It pulls you in; the history, the stars, the quiet, things we can’t even explain but we will be back. We are very glad we ventured off the beaten path.” “We loved the entire experience. You can’t get this at a hotel. We love that they welcomed our four legged family members.” We took what my grandfather built for broom corn workers years and years ago which remained in ruins for years after broom corn production died out. We remodeled and modernized it with central AC, Heat, and WiFi while conserving the rustic beauty of the Great Plains. Complete with five private rooms, each with it's own theme reflecting on parts of our panhandle history. Community bathrooms. Pricing is per room. Country barn, lounge/kitchen, cocktail garden, many outdoor sitting areas/ venue/parking area, small pond, and even space for tents. 14 beds total (2 King, 1 queen, 4 full, 8 twins) The Great Plains is known for its starry skies and beautiful sunsets. Located 20 miles south of Black Mesa and 8 miles form Lake Etling/Black Mesa State Park. Make the Panhandle of Oklahoma a part of who you are :) We love sharing our place with people around the world!! There is something complex about simple things. Come get lost and find yourself. Please be sure to sign our guests book!! During your stay We correspond via text, email and phone. We are a non host but just a phone call away :) We try to meet all of our guests but it doesn’t always work out. Other things to note Be sure to bring a jacket. Our clear nights can turn off chili even on our super hot summer days. Summers can get super hot and winter can be frigid! Check the local weather before you head out to plan accordingly :) It’s a good idea to bring a house coat and slippers or flip flops. Stop in Clayton New Mexico or Boise City Oklahoma for fuel and or snacks. These are the closest towns.
