Treat yourself to a weekend getaway at our gorgeous home in Upstate NY. The house has county vibes with all the cozy amenities of home. Privacy and comfort are top priority. The home is a short drive to the charming town of Kinderhook with hiking, local pubs and great restaurants. * Please note, we do not allow pets. The space ALL THE COMFORTS OF HOME Our home sits on 72 private acres in the Historic Hudson Valley Region of Upstate New York. Formerly the home of Hollywood Icon Sidney Poitier and his family. Stuyvesant on the Hudson features a gated enterance with two guest houses that lead to the main house. The overall feel is modern-rustic. House has central air conditioning and all updated amenities. When you enter from the kitchen you'll instantly feel at home. The kitchen is fit for a chef with 12ft island. It's great for serving buffet style meals. Kitchen has two high top tables nestled next to the fireplace. Our favorite part of the kitchen are the cute checkered tiles and of course the natural sunlight shining through the floor to ceiling windows. A wall with a service window connects the kitchen to the dining room. The dining room has two high top tables. If you love an open floor plan and plenty of natural sunlight, our place is definitely for you. When guests enter through the main door, the first thing they say is, "wow!". Guests take a few steps inside and are instantly drawn to the sunk-in great room which features a dramatic 21ft cathedral ceiling and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the meadow and onto the Hudson. To the right of the great room is the dining room and to the left is the and second living room. With so much open space and sunlight, guests feel like they are outside but enjoy all the amenities of being inside. The home has a total of six large bedrooms. Two master bedrooms- one on the main floor and one on the second level. Another feature we love is each bedroom has a private bathroom with a shower! Additionally, each bedroom has cathedral ceilings, LCD televisions and sliding glass doors that lead to a outdoor balcony area. The upstairs level is very spacious with a total of 5 bedrooms, a sauna and a balcony area with a couch and an office nook that over looks the great room. Guests often enjoy spending time on the back patio having a cocktail, BBQ-ing and playing outdoor games. And of course the man-cave/game room is where most guests love to hang out. The man-cave/game room is located in a separate building roughly 100 ft from the main house. It's cozy, has a card table, pool table, darts, full length bar, refrigerator, three couches, a recliner and a wood burning fireplace. LOCATION from NYC and Boston Several guests have been pleasantly surprised by our geographic location. They say it's a great midpoint for groups visiting from both NYC and Boston.
