Modern and updated bungalow, contemporary kitchen with utensils, drip coffeemaker, blender, toaster, microwave, oven and cooktop. Updated bathroom, with large front deck and 50' L-shaped pier, large hot tub, gas grill, three kayaks ( 1 tandem and 2 single), and CATV/hi speed wireless Internet Access. Washer/dryer available. For birdwatchers, an Osprey roost was installed by conservationists recently within 50' of my pier on Broadwater Creek. I'm available for guests by phone or email. I provide information about use of the house, and where to go for shopping or dining in the local community. I live about 1 hour away, but can respond to most questions by email or phone call. It is a quiet, private and relaxed neighborhood of locals and weekenders, with lovely waterfront views. Seafood is plentiful and affordable in local restaurants. (See some suggestions for local restaurants and grocery stores on the map below). Also, boating and kayaking are popular local activities, with several large marinas in Deale and Galesville nearby. You'll need a car to get to and from. But most local restaurants and grocery stores are a 5 minute drive away. And Galesville (5 min), Edgewater (15 min), Annapolis (20 min) and Washington, D.C. (1 hour) are all easily within reach for excursions or day trips. I often travel to this place from Washington, D.C. and return to DC during a single day. It's no more than 1 hour from either Washington National Airport or BWI by car, and slightly more than 1 hour from Washington Dulles in Virginia. Easy to route the trip via GPS or by (website hidden) Maps in advance. Linens are provided for guests as are extra towels if needed in the bathroom closet. Hair dryer in vanity drawer. Gas grill available for grilling; remember to close valve on propane tank when finished and return plastic cover over grill (grilling utensils are in kitchen drawer to right of the dishwasher). Appreciate watering of hydrangeas, box woods and ornamental grasses in the front yard, especially if it's dry and hot or there hasn't been a good, steady rain. Hose is on the side of the house below the kitchen window. New washer and dryer are in the mud room. Please run washer for all your used sheets and towels before you leave, so my cleaning crew can dry and fold when cleaning. My two kayaks are available for use by the able-bodied and are found at the end of the driveway or in the rear of the property. Life jackets (and safety whistles) are required by law; mine are hanging in the closet in the mud room, and the paddles can be found there too. Please return kayaks to rear of driveway upside down (so they won't catch rainwater and debris). Feel free to take adirondack chairs in front yard (not the ones on the front deck) or the umbrella in the mud room (stand is on the front deck) to the pier, but please return them if there is a storm and when you leave...you'd be surprised how furnishings can be reclaimed by Mother Nature when left on the pier! When the tides are very high, some of my pier is underwater.
