Cove View Cottage

Cove View Cottage sits in native bushland, peacefully overlooking the hills and bay of Oyster Cove, the D'Entrecasteaux Channel and North Bruny Island. Being only 30 minutes south of Hobart, in the heart of The Channel, Cove View Cottage provides easy access to Bruny Island, Cygnet and the Huon Valley. Whether you are looking to spend a few days exploring the best of southern Tasmania, or simply a rejuvenating weekend away surrounded by nature, our cottage is the perfect spot! The space Cove View Cottage started life as a shack for the original owners while they built the adjacent main house, before serving as a woodwork shop for a long period. Over the last few years, we have affectionately converted the weatherboard cottage into accommodation, incorporating straw bale walls and using reclaimed and recycled materials, timbers and furniture wherever possible. The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a queen and one king single bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen (although there is no dishwasher yet), a comfortable lounge area and plenty of patio and garden space for barbeques or sitting around the fire with a glass of wine. The cottage is surrounded by seven acres of beautiful bushland with walking tracks providing access to the surrounding hills, the cove and the channel shoreline. There are many great cafes and restaurants to explore in the area and shops and services are only a few minutes’ drive away. Guest access You will have the entire cottage to yourself. Although our main house is located just behind the cottage, you will have your own private, fenced and screened garden area / fire pit and a separate driveway and parking. There is ample parking beside the cottage. Please try and keep all the gates closed to avoid letting the wallabies in (they love to feast on the garden plants!) Other things to note There is no proper laundry in the cottage but there is a washing machine and facilities outside (under cover) if you need to do an emergency load! There is very good Telstra 4G reception at the cottage. Optus is a little more temperamental. Other carriers do not have coverage in the area unfortunately. Registration Details DA2017-251
