The Ocean Suite at Lala Land is a place of peace & restoration. Perfect getaway from the city or stop-over along the coast. 10 min. from the town of Gualala, nestled among 10 private acres of coastal redwoods. Private deck offers a sweeping ocean view, ideal for sunrise or sunset sipping your favorite beverage in the hot tub, or stargazing free from lights. Located on the ridge above Highway 1, Ocean Suite faces the Southern sky & is often sunny, warm, & wind-free compared to surrounding areas. The space The Ocean Suite at Lala Land is a private suite on a shared property with two private bedrooms, a private bathroom & hallway, and a private hot tub & deck lounge area. Shaye (owner & on-site host) lives at Lala Land in the main house with two pets who love greeting guests! ***Please note: This is a private guest suite on a shared property (not a fully secluded standalone home). While your space and hot tub are for your exclusive use, your suite has a shared wall with the main house where I live.*** Your guest suite features a dedicated parking space & contactless check-in with a separate entrance from the main house, accessed via the ocean-side deck. Cozy & stylish with luxuriously comfortable sleeping arrangements: a queen bed in the primary suite & a full-size bed in the secondary suite. A hallway leads to the spa-style bathroom which features a skylight with views of the redwoods tops above the rain-style shower. Step out onto the deck to enjoy the private lounge & hot tub area with ocean view, scent of the trees, & the warmth of the ocean ridge sunshine. Please be aware that there are also other guests on the property; review your check-in instructions carefully so you go to the correct suite! The suite is connected to the main house via shared walls, so you may hear footsteps and occasionally voices during the day. At the end of the hallway, there is a locked (on both sides) door that leads to the main house. The private guest access to the suite is through a sliding glass door, lockable with a key that you will retrieve from the lockbox at the deck stairs upon arrival. There is an additional sliding glass door to the main house that stays locked & fully covered with curtains & privacy film for mutual privacy during your stay (located near the hot tub). Please note! No kitchen or kitchenette in this unit; a small coffee bar only. We encourage guests to enjoy our local restaurants & bakeries! The coffee bar includes: an electric kettle, coffee pot, microwave, mini French press, pour over setup, & a mini fridge/freezer combo. A refreshing pitcher of filtered private well-water. Wine glasses, cups, mugs, plates, bowls, a knife, & basic cutlery for 4. The unit has a smart TV in the primary bedroom. There is a towel heater, a portable space heater, & central heating & air conditioning; please message the host for temperature adjustment requests. Guest access Please drive very SLOWLY on the dirt road and SLOW DOWN immediately if you see someone walking. The neighbor who maintains the road is very strict about this. Please pull into the driveway very slowly as the dog & cat may be roaming. Your suite is private, and your side of the deck is used only by you. You may see Shaye occasionally on the main house side of the deck, separated by a gate. Feel free to walk up the driveway to access the road for a stroll. The rest of the property is private & may be in use by other guests so please remain in your private areas. Other things to note Please disclose any pet(s) and a few details about your pet(s) prior to arrival. Pet fee ($50 per pet per stay) is due prior to arrival/check-in. There will be a doggie welcome basket for you with treats and a sheet to cover the bed if they'll be cuddling during your stay. Please remove shoes at the door! You will likely have plenty of wildlife to enjoy during your stay, including hummingbirds, deer, blue jays, foxes, raccoons, hawks, eagles, skunks, bobcats, & occasionally mountain lions. Please be aware that the LaLa Land property is our home & is shared by other guests in separate areas, so we may be onsite, along with friendly pets that roam the property freely, including Mimoso, a Yorkie-poodle mix, and Peach, a 1 year old cat. They are both very friendly & absolutely love meeting guests. Neighborhood dogs or other dog friends also stop by occasionally. None of the dogs should enter your private unit or deck, or bother you in any way during your stay, so please let your host know if there is a concern. The Wifi is strong and reliable unless there is a storm so please check the weather before your stay if you need Wifi for work. Be very careful about fire hazards. Never leave any appliances on when going outside! Never leave appliances unattended while on. The electrical system is not capable of handling multiple appliances at once, so please take care to use one at a time & always unplug the portable heater if using another appliance. If the breaker trips, there may be a delay before someone is available to turn the power back on. If traveling during fire or storm season, please check with the host about potential power outages.
