A convenient ten minute drive from the city of Beckley, its cozy surroundings will leave you feeling rested, refreshed, and ready to encounter the wild and wonderful state of West Virginia. Just a (literal) minute from the Grandview section of the New River Gorge National Park, you’ll also be close to many of the incredible adventures West Virginia has to offer. The national park features several spectacular overlooks (the main overlook is easily accessible), amazing hiking trails, and an outdoor theatre during the summer. For golfers, Grandview Country Club is a five minute drive away and Glade Springs Resort’s incredible courses are just twenty minutes away. After you’ve taken in the breathtaking view overlooking the gorge, feel free to explore the nearby Greater Beckley area, where you’ll find lovely local dining options, unique shopping, more hiking trails, white water rafting, fishing, rock climbing, caving, swimming, skiing, and many more outstanding opportunities for a truly memorable experience. From here, you’re an easy drive to the incredible New River Gorge Bridge and main national park area as well as Summersville Lake and hip, historic Fayetteville. You can also easily reach the delightful town of Lewisburg, and even drive to explore the internationally famous Greenbrier Resort. Our cottage is comfortable, peaceful, and simple, allowing ample space to relax and recharge after your adventures. Those who wake early can see a gorgeous sunrise from the airy sunroom. The front porch, outdoor garden area, and cozy living room are all wonderful places to unwind with a book, puzzle, or table game, all of which are accessible to guests from our own personal selection. The master bedroom, with its four poster queen bed, has its own half bath and features blackout curtains. The spacious second bedroom has a double bed, a twin with additional trundle bed, and blackout shades. There is ample space for a pack and play or extra air mattress (not provided). WiFi is reliable and media is available with streaming options through the smart TV. A full kitchen is at your disposal. Washer and dryer are also available. We think Kingfield Cottage will be both a wonderful place to relax and a perfect home base for launching into adventures that make for lifelong memories. The entire house is yours to enjoy while you are here, as well as the garden, porch, and yard. Occasionally people leave food items in the cabinets or fridge like popcorn, other snacks, extra drinks or even maple syrup that they didn’t use up but couldn’t take with them. You may help yourself to anything that is there! If you use up something like salt or cooking oil, no worries. Just let me know so I can replace for the next guests. You’ll need to drive to your destinations from our place. But parking in the driveway is convenient and easy, although it’s on a slight incline. The owners live in close proximity to the house, should you need any help while you are here.
