Bring your boat to this waterfront community in the heart of the Everglades and the 10,000 Islands. Across from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Visitor Center, Everglades Gulf Coast Center. Great fishing and boating community. The cabin is cozy and rustic. Sleeps up to 4 guests. There is a screened outdoor living space overlooking the water. Community heated pool. 20$ boat launch fee to be paid next door at Glades store. Loft space and utility room are off limits to guests. The space Day tours available at Everglades National Park. Eco tours, fan boat tours, fishing charters and kayak rentals available near by. Restaurants, local market, gas stations and bait store within 2 miles of cabin. Cabin offers one bedroom with 1 queen bed and a twin bed. Main living area offers Queen size pull out sofa bed. One bath. TV with digital antenna, Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, gas grill, community heated pool. Large outdoor screen living area. Please see house rules. Loft is storage area and not sleep space. Other things to note Ten Thousand Islands The Ten Thousand Islands are a labyrinth of water and mangroves. The islands harbor an abundance of life, and the shallows serve as nursery grounds for countless marine species. Boaters should be mindful of the depth of the water, as shallows are common. Finding your way through this area of the park can be difficult, and it is strongly recommended that visitors reference NOAA Charts #11430 and 11432 to assist them. Those looking for some places to explore in the area may want to consider Turner River, Halfway Creek, Sandfly Island, or the East River. Our cabin is in the Everglades. Our ecosystem has a great deal of wildlife and insects are very common. While we have the property treated for pests monthly, it is impossible to completely eliminate insects in this environment. Ways to avoid insects in the cabin: Do not leave food or open containers on counter. Store all opened food items sealed in Pantry or Refrigerator. Wipe down counters after food preparation.
