Private lakeview guest quarters in historic home

This charming and historical stay is set in the picturesque lakeside town of Eagle River. Just out your door is Lake Superior, a beach, river gorge, waterfall, sunsets & stargazing. This is a lovely, spacious, and private 2-story guest quarter with private entrance. 1st Floor: parlor (living room); kitchen; half bath; and a screened-in front porch with a lake view. 2nd Floor: a spacious guest room (with windows for a lakeview and lake breeze); full bath. The space This spacious and pleasant space will sleep 1-3 people. It consists of the front 2-story half of an historic 1860's home. For a period of time, the home was a boarding house, "Grandview." The upstairs guest room has three large windows that face the lake, with enjoyable lake breezes during the summer months. A private full bath is across the hall, just off the bedroom. The bedroom is set up with both a queen and single bed (to sleep up to three, or for extra sleeping space for restless sleepers.) In addition, there is a half-bath on the first floor. The downstairs parlor (living room) is to your left as you enter. The kitchen is just past the parlor. In prior years, we served a continental breakfast in the parlor to our guests. (Mentioning it here in case you are confused by comments you may have read in the reviews regarding breakfast.) The kitchen is now available exclusively for guest use. Coffee is provided. We are confident that our guests will find this a comfortable and enjoyable place to call their temporary home. A variety of recreational activities are available for all ages and skill levels. Explore the history of the area, or experience biking on beginner to world-class mountain bike trails. Hike, kayak, stroll the beaches, agate/rock pick, or simply relax in the natural beauty of the area. We are an easy drive to the dock for the "Isle Royale Queen" in Copper Harbor, which transports visitors to and from the Isle Royale National Park. We are ideally located just 16 miles from Lac La Belle/Mt. Bohemia, 20 from Copper Harbor, and are 30 miles north of Mt. Ripley/Michigan Tech. You will find "Grandview" a welcoming place to return to after a day of adventuring or an hour or so of relaxing on the beach. Guest access Your own private entrance (with self check-in) and guest quarters consisting of a spacious room and private bath on the second floor, and a kitchen, parlor, half bath, and screened-in porch on the first floor. Feel free to kick back and relax on the screened-in front porch. It is a pleasant place to enjoy your morning coffee or just take a break during the day. Other things to note Owners wil provide check-in information prior to your arrival date. Lake Superior brings a wide range of temperatures to the peninsula, even in the summer. You will want to bring a variety of clothing. Summer temperatures can range from the 50's to the 90's. Checking the weather in advance will provide some guidance. Depending on your cellphone provider, when traveling north of Eagle River in the peninsula you may find that service near Copper Harbor is limited. There is of course wifi at the house.
