There is a small creek just down the hill from the cottage, and Big Creek is just down the street. The Nisqually River is within walking distance and a small community lake provides a nice swimming area in the summer. Lots of Deer. The cabin has a few neighbors – the property is fenced and heavily wooded, offering lots of privacy when you are on the property. The hot tub is private! If being in a neighborhood is a problem please let me know immediately – no negative reviews because there are neighbors. Almost everyone in Ashford lives in neighborhoods. This is because infrastructure in rural area is so important. There are times when Ashford has three plus feet of snow. Being in a neighborhood assures that the roads will be plowed, and there is access to water, power and the all mighty internet! And for those of you who still need to feel connected, Free Wireless Internet is now available! Roku TV with Netflix and Hulu along with a large DVD library will keep you entertained after a long day on the Mountain! During the winter the road are kept well plowed. You will need studded tires or chains in Mt. Rainier park between November 1st and April 1st. You are traveling to the woods. Please be prepared to not have cell phone service during your stay. Verizon services usually work there. This is unusual, but you also my not have internet for very short periods of time. Cabin has both local and long distance phone (no international calls) and internet service included with your stay.
