The space Recently built three story guest house which is a short drive from Ottawa with an amazing treetop loft bedroom. Located on two acres of woods and garden, totally separate from the main house, Kamanik guest house has its own private decks and dedicated dock for swimming as well as a separate waterfront area. Amenities include loft king bed, ground floor murphy full size bed, gourment kitchen featuring new Miele appliances, Bose sound system with inside/outside speakers; coffee makers of all sorts (including regular drip coffee maker, french press, stovetop expresso, and Nespresso maker for original capsules, blender, wood burning and gas fire pits, wood and gas fireplaces, and dedicated kayaks and a family canoe. The tranquility of a non motorized lake provides perfect swimming where you can dive off the floating dock or have easy walk-in access from the main dock. There is a waterfall a short swim from the Guest House dock providing a natural jacuzzi -- and wonderful views of lac Brassard. Shared amenities include a natural wood sauna. Perfect for that special, memorable couple or small family getaway. -Napoleon BBQ for outdoor barbecuing on the upper deck overlooking the lake is available with a central gas supply. -Wood for the fire pit is available on an unlimited basis for your stay at $85 (payable at check in). Alternatively, guests can bring their own firewood available at local grocery store. -Two paddle boards and bikes are available to rent. -Family canoe and 3 PVC kayaks available at no cost. -Amazon, IGA, Pizza and Good Food delivery available to front door. Wakefield pubs, restaurants, bike trails, La Flèche aerial park and golf and skiing (Cascade or Edelweiss) are an easy 20 minute drive. Guest access Lake and cottage amenities. Other things to note Wakefield is a twenty minute drive with well organized mountain bike trails, golf, downhill and cross country skiing, restaurants (The Mill) and pubs (Cafe 1870) and music (Black Sheep Inn) and nearby Gatineau Park. Re: cooking, Kamanik guest house has a modern kitchen with a Miele gas stove and convection/microwave oven. The house also has a Napoleon BBQ grill for outdoor cooking which is connected to a central gas source. As a private lake, lac Brassard has excellent fishing with an abundance of bass and pike. Kamanik Guest House has a standby generator to counter storm outages and keep you cool at all times. Kayaks (x3) and a family canoe and paddles are available on site at no extra charge. Stand up paddle boards and mountain bikes are available to rent upon request (75$ per SUP for duration of stay). While there is a limited amount of dishwasher soap and laundry detergent, guest should bring their own supply and any other amenities they require.
