A peaceful lodge near Castle Combe

A warm welcome awaits you at Blackbird lodge, situated in the popular village of Yatton Keynell. Furnished to a high standard, the lodge is calm, spacious and bright with views overlooking garden and fields beyond that can be enjoyed from your private patio. Just 1 mile from the picturesque villages of Castle Combe and Biddestone, 3 miles from Chippenham and 10 miles from the Georgian city of Bath. The village boasts a popular pub, friendly village store, coffee shop, play park & countryside The space Blackbird lodge is a newly built calm space, furnished with comfort in mind. A fully equipped kitchen leads onto a open plan bedroom and lounge area with separate spacious bathroom. French doors open onto a small private terrace with views to garden and fields. You have the whole lodge to yourself, bedding, blankets, towels and kitchen essentials are provided. Outside you have a private small terrace with table & chairs. The lodge has a king size bed and also a small double sofa bed that could accommodate 1 extra guest, e.g. a child. Please let me know when you book if you require the sofa bed. If requesting an extra guest booking, please enquire for sutability BEFORE making your booking. The sofa bed is in the same room as the main bed. The lodge has a no visitor rule so extra guests will not be permitted without prior approval , however if you have family or friends in the area who may pop by just let me know. Guest access The lodge is a stand alone building for guests only. Set within the grounds of our private house, the lodge has its own entrance and keysafe. The code to the keypad will be given to you prior to arrival. Guests are welcome to use the patio space at the rear but are kindly asked not to use the rest of the garden as it is our family space. Parking for 1 car is on our shared drive infront of the left garage doors. Other things to note There are many beautiful walks from the Lodge's doorstep. Beyond the pub in our village there are 4 other good pubs and villages to explore within a 3 mile radius. Other local attractions include Castle Combe race track, Westonbirt Arboretum, Lacock Abbey, Bowood and other Cotswold villages. Public transport is not very frequent. There is a limited bus service to Chippenham. To travel to other villages, we would recommend having a car, but in good weather there are many beautiful villages accessible via cross country walks which we are happy to tell you about. There are a few walks shown in the guest book and an OS map of the area, but do ask us for more details.
