The space Our home is settled in a gorgeous tree lined street at the far corner of Willamalane Park. Instead of seeing neighboring houses, you'll see 70 year old maple, elm and oak trees with rolling grass lawns. Its perfect if you're looking for privacy, peace and quiet. On the far side of the park you'll see walking trails, tennis courts, softball diamonds, a football/track field and an indoor swimming pool all accessible to you. Inside, our home has hardwood floors throughout with cozy area rugs . There is more description of the rooms below. There is a wood stove with plenty of wood supplied. Other things to note Occasionally, but not often, there is a guest in the upstairs suite, called The Nest. The suite is up over the garage and has its own private entry through a side door into the garage, (keyed differently than the main house). The stairs also originate in the garage. The Nest has its own private bathroom on the main floor just past the Laundry Room. The choices AIRBNB gave us to describe Parkside Paradise were Shared Space or Entire House. The only shared space would be the Laundry Room. We felt like Entire House best described the space since many times the Laundry Room goes unused. If it is important to you that no one occupy The Nest during your visit, please inquire. Potentially there would be an extra charge for the Suite and the 2nd Bathroom. Our son, Sam, built the Tiny House in the backyard for his stay in Seattle during Grad School. He brought it home, and now rents it to Travel Nurses. They have their own entrance through the gate by the garage and typically work 12 hour shifts and are very quiet. My husband recently completed The Vardo Wagon on the west side of the house. It is not visible from inside the house and also has its own private entrance. Occasionally we will be in the Vardo but we keep to ourselves. We are friendly but more importantly, want to respect your privacy, so we would leave initiating any contact to you. Just give us a call if you’re the kind of person who loves to visit! Please enjoy the Art Barn! There are 2 hanging chairs, a fob for lights at night, and lots to do, touch and see. You are welcome to use any supplies you find out there! We are retired and have developed our property over the last 8 years of hosting guests through Airbnb to supplement our retirement. We are old school hosts who actually live in our home full time, unless it is rented. Occasionally we take fun trips across Oregon while we have guests in Parkside Paradise and occasionally we will occupy our New Vardo Wagon. (See description above). So if you are one to enjoy houses that are purchased, renovated and used exclusively for airbnb, by hosts who don’t ever live there, we may not be for you. Lastly, please note that we pay 100% of your Service Fee and don’t charge a Cleaning Fee so that you have no unexpected charges. We do this because this is how we would like to be charged when we travel too! Of course, you do have to pay the unavoidable taxes.
