Apartment 1 is the lower unit of a charming two-unit home, offering a cozy stay with historic character. Enjoy original hardwood floors, beautiful woodwork, & built-in cabinets in the dining room & kitchen. A large dining table is perfect for meals or work. Relax with radiant heat, blackout blinds, ample closet hanging space, & 680-thread-count sheets. Bedroom 1 features an original pocket door. Each unit has its own private entrance; please note the upper unit may be occupied during your stay. The space My place is unique, because it was originally built as a two unit home in 1906. The space has tons of character and charm born from craftsmanship a century ago. It tells a story of many updates with modern conveniences and comforts added along the way. Quirky cozy charm helps you settle in and unwind. The apartment has good natural light throughout making it feel open and comfortable. The bedrooms are cozy, and configured to get you caught up on your zzzzz’s. Fans, sound machines, extra pillows and blankets, blackout blinds, new mattresses, and high thread-count sheets, gives you the ability to customize exactly what you need to get your best sleep. My favorite detail in Apartment 1 is the original pocket door which is still in great working order and has photo worthy hardware details (the door was crafted over 100 years ago). Original hardwood floors, custom woodwork, and beautiful original built-ins in both the dining room and the kitchen. All the woodwork has been left in original condition, except bedroom 2 and the bathroom which were painted decades ago and fresh coats of Benjamin Moore added recently. The windows have been updated, along with the kitchen and bathroom. You definitely get the old Grand Rapids feel and vibe. The bathroom is quirky and sweet with newer wall and floor tile, Benjamin Moore paint, classic chrome hardware, radiator, full length mirror, and walk-in shower. The upper unit and the lower unit each have their own “private entrance”annnd there’s two “off street parking” spots (please note: one spot per unit.) It’s a rare thing to find in Heritage Hill and the surrounding area to have both a “private entrance” AND “off street parking” at one home with two units. There’s a Roku TV. It has access to Amazon, Netflix and any other app you would use to log-in for watching shows. The house is close to great restaurants, unique shops, and beautiful historic Heritage Hill homes. Guest access You will be able to have the apartment all to yourself! The upper unit may be occupied during your stay, but each unit has their own private entrance. Other things to note There are three steps up to the front of the house and four steps up to the front door of Apartment 1. One off-street parking space is available during your stay. Quiet time between 10pm-7am.
