Sunset (Hut Nr.1)

The Sunset has a window view on all sides, letting in lots of light and is surrounded by greenery with a cozy outdoor terrace. The room has a comfortable two-person bed, closet, seating area  and table. As a sleeping option for a third person it offers an old fashioned Dutch Bedstede, which is a bed in a "closet" The bed is 90cm x 180cm so it is not suitable for tall persons but very cozy if you are not that tall :) The space It is the place to be if you’d like to stay in a semi tropical lodge and enjoy a slightly alternative way of living during your stay. The Bamboo Lodge is not the usual hotel. Every room is unique. Most of our facilities are built using recycled materials that we collect during the year. You can expect a western town meets a tropical garden, meets an alternative hippie/ bohemian lifestyle environment. The Bamboo Lodge is build on a former Sugar factory terrain and is situated on a 15 minute bicycle trip from the vibrant city center of Groningen. We’ve spend 7 years building the lodge and transforming a concrete plate into a tropical garden with lots of different tropical plant species. Free living birds such as chicken, ducks and peacocks make this place alive. During your stay we encourage you to feel at home as much as possible in all our facilities. We look forward to welcoming you at the Bamboo Lodge. Other things to note Please note that the Bamboo Lodge operates a self-check-in system and that you will find your room key and all instructions at the reception upon arrival. In case of emergency, someone from us is always available for you. Breakfast can be booked for only 10 euros per person. You are then free to use everything you find in our kitchen. We provide a well-stocked refrigerator and bread box. Do you need a bike? We also rent bikes for 10 euro per day. You can pay them cash on location Location address: Bamboo Lodge, Suikerlaan 4, 9743DA, Groningen, Netherlands We are located on the Suikerterrein, behind Camperlaan (although this is not our property). You will find our large grey gate with "Bamboo Lodge" written on it between no. 14 and no. 15. On either side of the gate you will find our free parking spaces. Three meters to the right of the gate you will find our entrance door. You can ring the bell there, after which we will welcome you and open the door for you. Once inside, follow the signs to the reception. There you will find a wooden box with your room number on it in. It is important that you take the correct box with you.  In the box you will find a welcome letter with instructions, your room key and a map. Bamboo Lodge uses a self-check-in system and our reception phone is only available for emergencies. Check-in is between 14:00 and 20:00. If your arrival is delayed, we kindly request you to inform us. Thank you for your understanding. Check-out must take place before 11:00. This means that you can put your luggage outside and leave the box with the key in the reception. You are welcome to stay on our premises for as long as you like. Do you have any questions?
