The studio is private and has it's own entrance. Guests are welcome to use the small forested backyard. Feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions The space The space is a new basement studio apartment, fully loaded and perfect for one or two people. The studio is small, only 550 Sq feet, with an entry hall, main room, kitchen (separated by a bar counter) and one bathroom. Each room have windows for natural light. The studio comes with free WiFi, full kitchen, and access to a shared washer and dryer. The bathroom has a heated floor, walk-in shower with a window and a seat. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking, but why bother with so many restaurants within walking distance. The studio has one queen bed and one sofa bed, which is also a queen. There is an extra foam topper for the sofa bed, plenty of extra comforters and blankets as needed. The studio also has a private WiFi network and a 32" TV. There is no cable, so bringing an AppleTV, Roku or Amazon Fire, etc.. It's a smart TV, so you can log in to Netflix or Amazon Prime, etc.. The location is across the street from Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery. The studio is centrally located in the Buckman neighborhood and close to bus lines 20 and 15. All necessities are within walking distance, including parks, shopping, bars, coffee shops, restaurants, and movie theaters. Guest access Guests will have their own studio apartment with a separate entrance. Guests will have shared access to the washer and dryer upon request. Use of laundry room requires 24 hour notice. Guests are also welcome to use the shared yard, including the small backyard. Other things to note There is no AC in the studio apartment. Unlike other parts of the USA, AC is not common for single family homes in Portland. If it’s too warm, there is a fan you can use and I recommend opening the windows at night because it typically cools off after dark. There is no onsite parking. Please park on Stark Street adjacent to the cemetery. There is a high school a couple blocks away, so parking can be tight during the school year, 8-3 Monday through Friday. Your host lives in the house upstairs with two other tenants. You will hear noise from upstairs tenants coming in and out and going up and down stairs. We're excited to meet new people and happy to point you to the best attractions in Portland. The apartment is well insulated and significantly quieter than the rest of the house, but Stark street is a busy street. You will hear traffic, kids going to school, late night partiers walking home, and the occasional houseless person. All harmless and part of the character of the inner city.
