Vista Castagneto is Jon and Siri's cozy cottage in the historic center of Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina. It offers fabulous views of the countryside and a private garden with jacuzzi within a few meters. The space In the middle of the medieval town of Castelnuovo is the apartment Vista Castagneto. With a lot of love for detail, Jon and Siri have done their best to modernize this picturesque gem while respecting the historical features, such as the beamed ceiling made of mighty chestnut trunks, so that it is cozy and comfortable for a relaxing holiday. Many interesting destinations, such as the nearby beaches or cities such as Volterra, San Gimignano and Siena, can be reached quickly by car. Since the narrow streets of the old town are not passable by car, the arrival is also slowing down, as the last meters are traveled on foot. Nevertheless, the luggage can easily be unloaded about 150 meters away and the car can then be parked for free in the city. Arriving at the front door, the magnificent view of the valley welcomes each guest. Here is also the balcony, which invites you to enjoy an aperitivo at sunset. You enter the apartment in a hall where jackets and shoes can be parked. From here, the master bedroom is accessed, which is equipped with a unique antique bed and comfortable mattresses. Right next to it you have the bathroom en-suite. On the right side you get to the spacious kitchen with a long table, where you can also get in the cozy warmth of the open fireplace with family and friends in the cold season. Here is also the door to the second bathroom and the passage to the guest room with two comfortable single beds. A steep staircase leads down to the most authentic space in the house, the living room with a cozy sofa bed. Here, the age of the house is charming, as the room is a former stable carved into the rock, the walls are made of natural stone. All windows of the apartment are oriented towards the valley and thus offer a fantastic view. The massive natural stone and rock walls create pleasant temperatures on hot summer days - even without the noise of an air conditioning system. Less than 20 meters from the apartment is the private garden, also with panoramic views of the valley. Here, the heated jacuzzi invites you to spend relaxing hours. The terrace, which is covered by a pergola with delicious grapes, overlooks a grove of fig, khaki and orange trees down to the historic city gate, the Porta Romana, where one of the beautiful hiking trails through the Tuscan hills begins. Thanks to the geothermal activity in the region, Vista Castagneto receives 100% ecological electricity and is heated with earth heat in winter.
