Oak Hill Farm c1824, this farmhouse has been fully renovated with a modern take on upstate luxury. Situated on 183 acres of its own land, the house benefits from the views across the valley, spring fed swimming pond and a private mountain top. Enjoy morning strolls through our open hay fields, cookout on the covered deck with a wood burning smoker, gas grill, fire pit. The property has mowed trails through the hay fields, large pathways that are for hiking, foraging, wild life sighting. The space The house is spacious, with a large open kitchen area in the ground floor – enjoy cooking local farms’ produce with best meat, dairy, and vegetable selection in the state right from the farm to your own table. When in season, harvest your own apples for the apple pie or fresh crunch. The living room on is equipped with a fireplace, available to use for the chilly evenings over a glass of wine. First floor has four bedrooms. The master bedroom large Greek revival-style windows (tip: open for the night breeze, and morning birds) with spacious wardrobes. Second bedroom with original old growth wide-plank pine floors, brings in the character of the farm right into the sleeping space. Large bedroom with a study attached will make every person a bookworm, with a cosy rocking chair placed right into the bay window. The study has a large working table and a silent privacy overlooking the green field – no better place to catch up on work. Finally, a bedroom with an extra TV set and a large leather sofa for a masculine touch, also benefits from original floors from 1850s. Definitely one for those that want to have their own space within a larger house. Guest access Guests are free to use the entire space of the house, as well as the 182 acres property. It includes a grilling station in the patio, a fire pit, private lake, a forest-grown mountain with water springs. All fruits and berries on the property are available for indulgence. Other things to note This is a working hay farm, with beautiful pastures that get cut twice per summer, you might encounter a tractor working our field for a day or two. Our farm also produces timber for local mills, at times loggers clear trees from the forest high up in our mountains. This area is a historic agricultural district with many working dairy farms, and working pastures which makes for an authentic experience!
