Description
A unique 3-bedroom, original 1970s-stylish bungalow in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside (The Garden of England) just an hour outside London. Perfect for a family break in the gorgeous green belt with amazing walks, pubs, scenery and stunning views for miles and miles. The space Our home, which has been in the family for over 50 years, is full of character, style, and eccentricity. You enter through an unusual train-carriage-like 70s hallway into a unique pine-panelled, cosy sitting room with a beautiful 70s fireplace and wood-burning stove. The airy open-plan dining room, with a large dining table for fabulous meals, is easy to serve from a large 70s hatch into an original Danish late 60s wood and stainless steel kitchen that is well equipped for keen cooks. Two patio doors lead out to the garden, and a large picture window with a 70s recliner is a perfect reading spot. The garden is very large and full of colour in spring and summer and Autumn. The top lawn is perfect for children to play on. The beautiful garden gets wilder as it descends down the hill. Full of wildlife, it is largely left to create a wild habitat and is wonderful to sit, relax, and breathe in the countryside air and views across the valley below. There are three decent-sized bedrooms, one bathroom and two toilets, perfect for family get-togethers or groups of friends having a proper countryside break. Guest access Guests have access to all of the ground floor, and the large garden is yours to enjoy. Other things to note The house is a 1900s bungalow that has been added to, bit by bit, over the years. It was modernised in the late 1960s by two photographers in a very original style. It has original 1960s & 70s decor and features, and is a charming trip back in time. Some of the carpets and furnishings are 50 years old, please treat them with care. On such a large property, there are, unfortunately, a few clearly marked areas, garages, outhouses, and a summer house that have no entry or are out of bounds for your own safety. The back of the house has utility areas, sheds and equipment we need to look after the garden. Several areas are blocked off and out of bounds to guests for your own safety.
