Description

The Woodland Zeppelin (Outdoor Bath Available April to November) This romantic spot in nature forms part of a sixty five acre woodland. Our Zeppelin landed in 2017 and has been a popular lifestyle retreat from busy lives since then. The woodland Zeppelin is located near our original rental, Airship 001, but is designed differently inside to appeal to all couples and those who have enjoyed their stays with us, previously. This accommodation has no mains plug sockets and sparse mobile signal. The space Inside Zeppelin Airship is designed to feel like you’re floating amongst the trees – a modern, cosy take on glamping where you’re wrapped in nature but still have the essentials. Heating is via bottled-gas central heating and a toasty wood burner for romantic snug evenings. You’ll find a small electric mini‑fridge, a two‑ring gas hob and a compact gas oven for simple woodland feasts, plus USB ports for charging phones and small devices. Traditional plug sockets are not installed in Zeppelin, so it’s not suitable if you need to run high‑powered electrical items such as hairdryers, blenders or work laptops. Outside, there’s a dreamy outdoor bath for stargazing soaks, which is usually available from April to November – in deep winter the water supply can freeze, so please bear that in mind when booking. The tap water is safe to drink. Zeppelin runs on bottled gas, and very occasionally a bottle may run low during your stay; there are simple instructions on how to change it yourself if you’re happy to, or you can just call a staff member and we’ll come and swap it for you. Contact numbers and arrival details are shared with you after booking. Guest access There is an allocated parking space (signed) for the zeppelin and then a short walk (about a 300 yards) along a designated path, through the woods, down to the airship cabin 'Zeppelin'. Our woodland cabins are tucked away in a properly wild, rural spot, so we recommend arriving by car or taxi rather than relying on public transport, which doesn’t reach the woods. The track is not suitable for very low‑suspension cars or sports motorbikes. If you’re arriving by taxi, your driver will drop you at the woodland entrance, and from there it’s about a 30‑minute walk through the woods with your luggage and supplies to reach your cabin, in all seasons – a little adventure before you put the kettle on. If you’re unsure about access or vehicles, just message or call a staff member and we’ll happily guide you. Other things to note VERY IMPORTANT Please do not ask to bring pets as we will not make exceptions as we want to cater for all including those with pet allergies. We cannot accept children under the age of 12 years. Please note that this is a glamping pod with basic facilities. No mains plug sockets for electrical appliances so there are no items such as hairdryer, microwave, fans etc. There is an outdoor bath with hot water. (Guaranteed Availability April to November) The pipes and taps may freeze during a cold spell during winter months. A usb port is built in to the stainless steel wall, a blue light marks the port, for charging phones and laptops. There is an indoor shower/wc There is a wood burner and there are no blinds and curtains so the airship may not be suitable for some individuals of a nervous disposition wanting complete privacy. This is a woodland setting so expect to hear and see deer, badgers, foxes, owls and other creatures including the pets who live on site. Sydney the sheepdog, Bisbee and Little Dave, the cats. Also this is a working woodland so one might hear machinery. PLEASE NOTE during dry seasons/hosepipe bans/ fire risks… we do not allow open fires, charcoal BBQ’s and wood burners to be used. We provide a gas BBQ for the safety of the environment. Please check the Ban status before you arrive for your stay. We provide enough kindling, logs and firelighters for your stay. If you need more, these can be purchased from Austen’s hardware, Mole Valley farmers, Lidls in Billingshurst or the garage at Five Oaks.
