In summer the minimum stay is 60 days. *** This well-appointed two-story townhouse is equipped with everything you need to make your stay in Los Alamos comfortable. The property is conveniently located close to LANL and downtown and has off-street parking directly in front of the unit. It also offers an easy exit to Santa Fe! All units in the building are occupied by LANL employees, offering a safe, family-friendly environment. Two large bedrooms and a full bath are located upstairs. The living room, kitchen, laundry room, and half bath are downstairs. The living room opens to a shady patio with a gas grill. The backyard of this corner unit is fully fenced and is Very private. Evaporative cooling, air conditioner, and ceiling fans keep the home comfortable in summer. The large kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal. It is complete with full-sized refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and mixer. Sometimes guests leave extra food, feel free to use it, but please check the expiration date. The master bedroom has a King size bed, the second bedroom has a twin day bed with a second twin mattress that slides out from underneath. Bed linens, duvet covers, and towels are provided. In the closets you will find extra towels, sheets, blankets, pillows. Air purifier and humidifier are there as well to make your sleep more comfortable. Washer and Dryer are located in a laundry room within the unit. In a laundry room there is also a full-sized ironing board and an iron. We care about our guests with sensitivities, and only use fragrance-free, dermatologists and pediatricians recommended laundry detergent for all bedding and towels. We care about your health and environment and try to use "green" cleaning products whenever possible. Please note, unfortunately, the gas FIREPLACE IS OUT OF ORDER. Please do not try to operate it. The heating in the townhouse is provided by forced air heating. For your convenience, we've added a keyless digital lock that offers 24 hours check-in. The Nature center (fun for kids!), library and swimming pool are 5 minutes away. East Park playground (probably the biggest in town, and definitely the one with the most variety) and a free miniature golf course are 2 minutes driving away. Walk to Ashley pond to feed Homer the Goose, ducks and fish. In summer there are also free concerts on Fridays, free music nights on Tuesdays, and free kids Movies at the Pond. The asphalt-surfaced Canyon Rim Trail, one of the most popular and easiest trails in town starts literally in the backyard of the complex. If you prefer to walk asphalt-surfaced road all the way, walk 8 minutes to the Fire Department at 457 East Rd to start the trail there. Both of town's grocery stores are nearby. Smith grocery store (the largest in town) is 3 minutes driving away. CO+OP, a local natural/organic food store with a great food bar and freshly made juices is 5 minutes away. For your convenience, in addition to having a great collection of brochures, maps and books for tourists (books are in the bookshelf, brochures and maps are in a basket near TV), we've also created an ONLINE GUIDE with links and more detailed information on the nearby restaurants and attractions WITH THE DRIVING TIMES from the townhouse. Walking times are included too when appropriate. Airbnb doesn't allow including URLs in the description, but the guide is very easy to find online, just type WHAT TO DO IN LOS ALAMOS YOLA. Atomic City Transit is a FREE bus system covering the City of Los Alamos and surrounding areas. It connects with NMDOT Park & Ride and North Central RTD buses. All local routes are fare free. Dispatch: (505) 661-RIDE (7433). Dispatch Hours: 6:00 am to 9:00 pm, Mon - Fri. Bus stop is only a few minutes walking away, the nearest bus stop is at 4th and Central (take 4th to Central, turn left, walk about 10 yards to the POLE with the Atomic Transit sign and information). Downtown bus circulates every 15-30 minutes. A bus to Santa Fe (stops by the library) is 5 minutes driving away. Being close to the exit to Santa Fe, townhouse offers a convenient location for couples living between Los Alamos and Santa Fe and for those who'd like to explore the night life of Santa Fe. HIKING/BIKING In addition to two national parks nearby (Bandelier National Monument and Valles Caldera), Los Alamos offers a 58-mile network of trails. In Los Alamos, you can always find a trail within 5-10 minutes of walking distance. For more information on the trails try a Free LA TRAILS app. This app allows easy navigation of the trails in Los Alamos, Bandelier, and Valles Caldera. Please note, the gas FIREPLACE IS CURRENTLY OUT OF ORDER. Please do not try to operate it. The heating in townhouse is provided by the forced air heating. Guests are welcome to bring their belongings any time after 11 AM, check-in is at 4 PM. We often allow late check-out for the people with little kids who need to stay for a few more hours, but since we usually have guests checking in on the same day, please clean up after yourself and collect all your belongings outside by 11 AM, when a cleaning service arrives. Stairs do not have a safety gate, and are not safe for toddlers. Outlets are not protected with safety plugs. Windows at the 2nd floor are not child proofed. Apartment is perfect for adults, but please give a thoughtful consideration to all the things above when traveling with little kids. Generally we do not recommend townhouse for kids younger than 5 y.o. PET POLICY PETS ARE APPROVED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS. We do not allow cats. Pets references are very much appreciated. Dogs are subject to an additional cleaning fee of $100-200 depending on the breed and length of stay. Dogs may not be left inside unattended. Any damages caused by your dogs inside the property or in the front/back yards will constitute replacement at your expense. Please clean up after your dog in the yard, otherwise an additional $50 - $100 fee will apply. Please do not allow your dogs in the beds to avoid charges for damaged bedding. We do not allow aggressive dogs and constant barkers on our properties. If your dog tends to cause problems, please keep him at dogs boarding or look at other lodging options. By booking with us, you agree to these terms and conditions. OUTDOOR SAFETY When enjoying outdoors, please watch out for the wildlife. Los Alamos is often visited by mountain lions, bears, coyotes and deer. Rattle snakes are common in the area as well. Bears are the frequent visitors in town and they seem to love our trails as much as we do. Please keep an eye on your children and pets playing outside, and keep the doors closed when not in the room. Do not leave trash outside and clean the grill after use. Your food is what bears after. Be especially aware of the mothers with cubs.
