'Ahhh the good life'. This seems to be the favourite phrase our guests use on the day they arrive to this little oasis of peace and tranquillity. Beautiful, authentic wooden house nestled on the bank of river Kupa offers a truly exceptional holiday home any time of year. Stunning views, remote location (but still only 45min from Zagreb airport) ideal for those who want to enjoy the nature, pause and de stress from busy lives. Now with a jacuzzi on the terrace to rest body and soul. The space Our address in Brodisce 80, however the street names have been changed only recently so sometimes this address doesn’t show in Google/Navigation. If that’s the case please try with the old address name – Augustenovac 189. or just Augustanovec beach Other things to note The river Our house is conveniently located right on river Kupa. There’s a couple of local beaches with easy access both left and right of the house as you walk out. The beach on the right is also pet friendly. Swimming in Kupa is a lovely experience, in the summer months river is warm, slow and clear. It is also great for fishing. You can throw your fishing rod anywhere you fancy, just make sure it’s away from other swimmers. There’s a couple of other beaches further down the river, a short drive from the house: Pokupsko beach – a big local beach with a sports ground, beach volleyball pitch and a small beach bar. Degoj natural beach – this is a little hidden gem where you can enjoy a swim and a natural hydro massage! (there are small rapids there and a makeshift ‘massage area’) Local area Our house is situated in a small village of Augustanovec. This is an authentic Croatian village with friendly locals and picturesque landscapes. In the village there’s a small local shop stocked up with basics. To get to the shop it’s a 10 min walk; turn right when you come out of the house and walk to the end of the road, right again up the hill and then left at the top of that road. Or for fresh local organic produce you can purchase eggs, honey, fruit, vegetables directly from the locals - they will have boards in front of their house advertising what they are selling. A great way to taste the very best of local foods. Our neighbour on the right sells honey and eggs! Bigger supermarket in 3km away in Pokupsko and there’s a few cafes and restaurants there too. For convenient grocery pick-up service we would recommend you use Konzum supermarket online, where you can order online and pick up your order from one of their outlets. There is a local baker that drives past the house daily (except Sundays) in a white van. He’s there between 8.30-9.00 and has fresh bread and other sweet and savoury baked goods available! Just wave at him and he’ll stop for you to buy what you need.
