The big 1800’s mansions are the carpetbaggers legacy. The 1900’s turn-of-century was phase two. Then every ten to twenty years or so another phase would appear, ie, 20’s, 30’s, 40’s & 50’s. ~ till the lots were all gone. At my first neighborhood gathering I was informed my 1901 house was a “New” house❓Confused... it was quickly explained an old house was 1800’s & then there was the teens, 20’s, 30’s, etc Bay St morphs into Main St only a block away.
