Description
Chettle Campsite is an opportunity for a genuine camping experience. The site is off-grid, eco-friendly, and sits in a tree-lined orchard opening out into the rolling Dorset Down Lands. Our carefully curated bell tents allow for a comfy chic meets wild camping feel. The emphasis here is on simplicity, relaxing, a retreat into the great outdoors, and avoiding the crowds. Pull up a hay bale or a hammock, explore the best of Dorset and enjoy a fire-lit night under the stars. The space Our fully furnished bell tents sit in spacious pitches cut into the long grass and wildflowers of the meadow. Each has a double bed and two single futon beds, they are carpeted and have a selection of rugs, throws, and blankets to keep you cozy. Your bell tent has its own private fire pit and all you need to cook a hearty campfire meal from pots and pans to bbq utensils, chopping boards, glasses, and of course a kettle and cafatiere for the mornings! The tents sit in a prime location in the field near to our field library where you can pull up a hay bale or a couch and grab a book and hot (or cold!) drink and relax by a brazier. We offer privacy but the opportunity for a social around our communal fire pits if you wish and logs are sold daily on site. Lots of space, well-kept eco-toilets, freshwater sun-heated showers, sinks for washing and dishes. There is a pizza oven that's fired up when stocks allow, a local shop within a few minutes walk, a lawned garden restaurant within 5 minutes walk, an award-winning pub 20 minutes stroll through the fields,. There's another pub just a 5-minute drive away and endless miles of countryside to explore. We hope you will enjoy your time here as much as we do. Guest access You can park onsite, not immediately next to your tents but very close by. We can help transport your things with wheelbarrows and nothing here is very far. The village is a 5-minute walk and Chettle is a good excuse to forget the car for a few days and explore on foot.
