WE REQUEST FULLY VACCINATED GUESTS ONLY. Our home is on 5 wooded acres with a stream in a historically rich community complete with old cemeteries & Civil War activity. We're surrounded by meandering bridle trails/walks & offer a camp ground on our property. Our home is very convenient to George Mason University. We also present summer concerts! Guests have a private kitchenette and a game room with Amazon Stick access on wide screen TV available. There is plentiful private parking. THIS IS A PRIVATE BEDROOM WITH 1 BED AND CAN ACCOMMODATE UP TO 2 GUESTS. WE REQUIRE ALL GUESTS TO BE VACCINATED. Our home reflects our travels and family history: my father was a diplomat, my mother a fine artist and I'm a potter with an in house studio, so expect some fascinating collections! We are professional musicians and work from home. You may be staying during a band rehearsal, house concert or during voice lessons! Our gardens are magical, with dragons, trolls, fairies and more. We do not leave our home when guests are booked. Guests are welcome in the living rooms, kitchen,bar/game room, laundry, atrium, porches, decks, gardens and picnic/campground. A couple who will only occupy one room may book as one person and get the single rate. Since we work from home, either my husband or I should be on hand most of the time. We live in a rare suburb of Washington DC zoned "Conservation". We have no county amenities (water, sewer) so have a well/septic facility and are on 5 acre lots with horse stables and lots of history. 2 miles down Clifton Rd., we enjoy the only winery in Fairfax County with regular music and other events available year round. Just beyond Paradise Springs Winery, is the beautifully preserved Victorian town of Clifton which boasts 4 singular restaurants plus the ever popular Ice Cream Depot, several craft and antique shops, and a plethora of festivals (Wine, Antique Cars, Clifton Days, House Tour and more!). We are also close to the historic town of Occoquan with access to more of the above and boating activities, and the Lorton Workhouse Art Center in the old Lorton Reformatory. The Manassas battlefields and other Civil War skirmish sites, plus Revolutionary War sites are close by. Old Fairfax Station was once a Union stronghold and Old St. Mary's Church provided shelter for soldiers wounded in Manassas battles en route to the nearest hospital in Alexandria. Clara Barton nursed them here and John Mosby with his raiders harassed the Union troops via the local stream beds. We really are "in the country" here. You WILL need a car to get around. We are within a 20-25 minute drive of 2 different metro lines and 15 minutes from the VRE (Virginia Railroad Express). In good traffic, we're 35 minutes to downtown DC. We do host house concerts, band rehearsals and students. We are happy to inform potential guests of these activities.
