Located on Tybee Island's back river, Mermaid Cove is a 2BR/1BA ground-level vacation rental that's the perfect setting to just sit back, relax and enjoy the view. With over 1500 sq ft, this newly remodeled waterfront retreat is located at the secluded northwest end of the Island, just around the corner from the famous Crab Shack and where scenes from “Baywatch: The Movie” were filmed. You’ll enjoy easy access to Tybee Island's sea front & beaches located just a few minutes away by bike or car. The space STVR License #: 022713 Guests can enjoy all the comforts of home with the latest modern amenities and tasteful beachside accents. Rental amenities include high-speed WIFI with Roku with Hulu + Live TV. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, pots and pans, and even a gas BBQ grill. We provide premium linens, towels, washcloths, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. Also included with your vacation rental are paper-products, hair dryer, iron, and ironing board. Your vacation rental has instant access to creeks and marshlands from your own private deck! For our adventurous guests, launch your own kayak, paddle-board, jet ski or boat at the end of the garden. The rear of the property faces West, great for watching beautiful sunsets after a hard day of sightseeing or sunbathing! Relax on the rear porch with a morning cup of coffee or evening cocktails. Or enjoy watching the world go slowly by from the waterfront deck. Keep in mind that Tybee's back river and creeks are tidal, so the water depth of the rivers and creeks is dependent on the tides of the ocean. High tide is when the river is at its deepest (about 6 to 8 feet deep) and is best for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing. When planning your watersport activities on the back river, please remember to check online for a Tybee Island tidal chart for high and low tides. At low tide, watersports are not possible for about 4 hours. If you arrive at low tide, and the water is low, don't despair. It will be back in very soon! Other things to note There is a maximum of two vehicles that can be parked at the property. Additional vehicles can be parked in the parking lot of The Crab Shack which is located less than a mile away. Guests must acknowledge at the time of booking if they are planning on bringing a pet. If a pet or pets need to be added to a reservation after the booking has been made, guests must agree to accept a change to the reservation to include the additional pet or pets along with the corresponding pet fee. We’re happy to welcome your furry companions at Mermaid Cove! For everyone’s safety and comfort, we kindly ask that all pets be friendly and well-behaved around other people and animals. Please note that a sweet resident dog and cat (Lucy & Mia) also share access to the backyard space. If your pet has any history of aggression, reactivity, or anxiety around other animals, we ask that you notify us in advance so we can discuss whether this will be a good fit. We believe your furry friend deserves to be part of your vacation fun—but we kindly ask that pets not be left alone in the condo for long stretches of time. In our experience, extended alone time can lead to stress for your pet, as well as accidents, barking, or potential property damage. For everyone’s comfort (yours included!), please plan to include your pet in most of your outings. If you anticipate needing to be away for much of the day or evening, we recommend arranging pet care through a trusted friend, family member, or local boarding service before your trip. That said, we understand there may be times when a quick outing is needed—leaving your pet alone for two to three hours is perfectly okay. Please be advised, local ordinances require that all guests must wear a life jacket when kayaking or boating. Additionally, children 12 years of age and younger must always be under immediate adult supervision when using the kayak or stand up paddle board.
