The space Welcome to the Time Capsule! Step into a completely unique getaway in this eco-friendly tiny cabin, beautifully designed with a vibrant, colorful space-age theme. Your private shower, sink, and dry compost toilet are located just outside, attached to the cabin on a wrap-around, elevated circular deck. Our property is a unique desert art space called "The Island In Tucson" (feel free to look up our website under the same name to learn more about our project!). For your peace of mind, the entire property is fenced and monitored by security cameras that we will show you during your check-in. Layout & PrivacyTraveling with a group? The Time Capsule sits 15 yards away from our other Airbnb guesthouse, the Groovy Glamper. You can easily rent both spaces together if you are traveling with friends or family. Need assistance? Our main house is located 140 yards away. We are close enough to help with any specific needs, but far enough to guarantee your absolute privacy. Strict Pet & Service Animal Policy: Due to the delicate and refined nature of the interior design, the Time Capsule is a strictly pet-free environment. Pets & Emotional Support Animals (ESAs): We cannot accept pets or emotional support animals under any circumstances. If you are traveling with a pet or an ESA, we kindly invite you to book our pet-friendly companion property, the Groovy Glamper, instead! Service Animals: Legally trained service animals (dogs individually trained to perform specific tasks for a disability) are always welcome. To ensure your stay is comfortable and to help us prepare, we appreciate it if you let us know ahead of time. Please note that per ADA guidelines and Airbnb policy, service animals cannot be left unattended in the cabin at any time. ⚠️ Space Suitability & Safety Warning: Please review the physical layout and design of the Time Capsule carefully before booking: Fragile Interior Design: The space-age decor, and interior furnishings are highly delicate, refined, and curated. Not Suitable for Children: Because the property is an active art sanctuary and contains fragile items that cannot be child-proofed, the environment is entirely unsuitable—and potentially unsafe—for children, or minors. Guest Responsibility: We ask that guests keep the delicate nature of the art space in mind when booking, as guests are fully responsible for any damage caused to the interior installations or curated decor. Eco-Friendly Living: We deeply love and respect our desert sanctuary, so we ask our guests to join us in practicing sustainability. Eco-Amenities: We provide plant-based body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and dish soap. Water Conservation: Graywater from your shower and sink feeds the surrounding trees via an underground drain system. Because water is scarce in the desert, we utilize dry compost toilets. They are incredibly easy to use, and we will happily walk you through the simple, hassle-free steps when you arrive. Drinkable Water: Our water supply is a blend of hauled community well water and harvested rainwater. It is fully purified by a UV filter system that kills 99% of germs, making it completely safe to drink. The Kitchen Setup: Please note that while we provide everything you need to prepare meals—including a microwave, portable hot plate with pans, charcoal grill, kettle and a French press coffee maker—there is no dedicated indoor kitchen. The experience we offer at the Time Capsule is truly unusual, unique, and out of this world. Be ready to open your mind! Guest access Finding Us: Access the property directly from Rudasill Road. The entrance features a sign with the number 12074. Driveway & Parking: The driveway is dirt but easily accessible by any vehicle. Once you cross the gate, pull into the parking area on your left, which is marked by a "Guesthouse Parking" sign. In-Person Greeting: Olivier or Emily will meet you in the parking lot to welcome you and guide you to the Time Capsule. The Walk: Cars are not permitted past the parking area. Expect a beautiful 30-yard walk through the desert with your luggage to reach your retreat! Other things to note We live in a beautiful semi-rural environment. While our neighbor’s fence is close, their house is several hundred yards away, so you may occasionally hear roosters and dogs barking in the distance, as well as coyotes. Additionally, our outdoor motion-detection lights may turn on at night due to local wildlife passing through.
