Just a two hour drive from Boston or a four hour drive from the New York City area, Quechee is beautiful all year-round with distinctive offerings for each season. Quechee is a classic, picturesque small town in Vermont with numerous attractions, outdoor activities and restaurants, including the renowned Quechee Gorge, Quechee Ski Hill, Simon Pearce glassblowing and family-friendly Lake Pinneo. In-town restaurants include Simon Pearce, Parker House Inn and the Quechee Inn. While the Quechee Ski Hill boasts family-friendly downhill skiing trails, those looking for more challenging slopes and more rugged terrain will find it just a short drive away at Killington, Pico, Suicide Six, Sugarbush and Mad River Glen, to name a few. During the milder months, there are numerous swimming holes and lakes for canoeing and kayaking to explore and enjoy as well as nearby hiking and biking trails. Wilderness Trails, located by the Quechee Inn, offers canoe, kayak and bike rentals, instruction and guided tours. If you decide to venture outside the town limits, Woodstock is about six miles to the west on Route 4 and offers many shops, boutiques and restaurants. Meanwhile, Dartmouth College and its beautiful campus is about a fifteen minute drive. If you go there, be sure to stop in at Murphy's for one of their legendary burgers or other upscale pub fare. With so much to offer, one thing you will not be in Quechee is bored. You will need a car to get around. During the winter months, an SUV or similar vehicle with four-wheel drive is recommended. The house is equipped with outdoor security cameras.
