John Day Chalet

The Chalet is 1000 ft. above the valley and town of John Day Oregon. Great view of the town and valley to the east and Canyon Mt. to the south. grant county chamber of commerce is a great source. (downtown - turn left at light or online) All linens and towels etc are changed after each rental. Open the drawers and cabinets to see where everything is. (Paper towels above the Fridge) Any issues, best to call directly with number provided by airbnb. (Texts may not be seen for a while) The space Located a 1000 ft. above and overlooking the town and valley it is the only, in town, private home with total privacy and accessibility to everything here. It has beautiful views and all the up to date amenities of a modern efficient, yet country home. Great for reunions and group events and meetings with large deck and bar and big living room and landscaped high desert yard and views forever. Guest access It is central to the entire county including the Strawberry Mt. National Wilderness, the Blue Mts, the John Day Fossil Beds museum and interpretive center, Kimberly Orchards, the entire John Day River system with many swimming and fishing holes, The High Plains of Seneca to the South with Silvies Ranch, the Kam Wah Chung Chinese museum and the county museum is really very cool. And just a bit further south, the OX Bow wagon barn must be seen to be believed and enjoyed. Our very tasty brew pub for good food and beers at 1188 (its name) right on Main Street The Out Post restaurant or 1188 our town brew pub on main street are very good. Down 395 one mile south is The Snaffle Bit restaurant which is a really excellent dinner house. Rt. at light to 767 E. Main is Canyon Mt. Center is a meditation, yoga and Pilates center and walking labyrinth and rock garden with river access and picnic areas. (Also available for group events and retreats.) The Chalet is quiet and private and you will be central to everything. Other things to note This beautiful home is good for up to a group of 8. It has 3 queen beds and two very nice twin floor beds that may be placed where needed in the house. The price does vary according to how many are staying. We have a two night minimum. The $210.00 per night is the base rate up to 3 persons. It increases $35 per night per person after 3 persons, including children. i.e.: 3 persons - 2 nights is $430, 4 persons - 2 nights is $500 etc. (The base rate for 2 nights, of $460, shown on airbnb includes , your airbnb fee and my airbnb fee to them & the cleaning fee of $50) Dogs are limited to two and are $10 per night each. Outside kennel and garage crate are available. The home has hard wood floors and upholstered furniture. So, if you are leaving them alone, dogs are to be kenneled either in our outside kennel or in the garage or on back porch, please. There is a $50 cleaning fee, included in the charge.. Any serious clean up, of over 2 hours, or unwarranted damage will be charged toward the agreed upon deposit of $500.
