Description
Gaelic for Little Croft, Croft Beag is, as the name suggests, a small Croft on the Isle of Skye. At just 4 acres in size, the Croft (an historic term for a Scottish smallholding) is well named and provides a comfortable and private space to relax in a quiet corner of the island. It provides a haven for a variety of local wild life including birds of prey, deer and wild fowl. Accommodation comprises of a modern large static caravan located in a sheltered corner of the croft. The space The static caravan is a self contained until with its own kitchen and living room areas. There are two bedrooms, each containing a double bed (bed 1 measures 190x137cm, bed 2 measures 185x135cm). both bedrooms have their own shower and toilet facilities. There is also a deck with table solely for guest use. Guests are welcome to explore the croft itself, which has beautiful panoramic views out to see and across hill grazing land. Bird sightings from the croft are frequent and include several birds of prey (including eagles if you are very lucky), herons, ducks (frequently on our pond) and a large number of garden birds including finches, blackbirds and robins. Deer are also often spotted on or near the croft. The Talisker distillery is located approximately 15 minutes drive from the property and the fairy pools can be reached within approximately 30 minutes drive. There are several walks with panoramic sea views straight from the croft and many more on the island. Guest access You are welcome to explore the croft, however do please take care and stay out of the buildings (other than the static caravan). There is a dog at the croft, a puggle (pug/beagle cross) called Marlow who isn't allowed in the static caravan. If the dog is a concern please let me know and I will ensure that he stays out of the way during your visit. There is no wifi There are only two beds, therefore groups of more than two people will needed to consider whether this accommodation will meet your needs
