While yurts are sometimes referred to as tents, The Local Chapter Big Bend yurts are custom built as permanent homes, sealed from the elements and engineered to withstand extreme winds and rain. Each yurt has electricity, running water, and all the conveniences you would expect from first class lodging. The yurts are spaced out across a high mesa, for privacy and views. Guest access Guests have exclusive and private access to their yurt, the full-width deck at their yurt, the campfire area by their yurt, and the general area around their yurt. Guests are expected to respect the privacy and space of other guests at the other two yurts. Greeting and visiting with other guests is welcome IF the other guests are agreeable. However, approaching the other yurts without invitation is not allowed. The 400+ acres of Local Chapter Big Bend, outside of the developed lodging area is protected from human disruption. Guests are encouraged to explore the neighboring Big Bend National Park but are requested not to explore or hike in the undeveloped areas  of the Local Chapter Big Bend property. Other things to note Each yurt at The Local Chapter Big Bend has a single sleep surface, a plush king-sized bed. No other sleep surfaces are provided.
