Out back, a private wood-fired sauna that seats four, an outdoor cold-water shower and a fire pit on the stone patio. Walk to coffee, restaurants and groceries on a Main Street lined with 1700s stone houses; the Gunks are a short drive. The space THE SAUNA AND BACKYARD A private wood-fired sauna sits in your own stone backyard, steps from the first-floor door. It seats four comfortably. Rinse off between rounds under the outdoor cold-water shower, then gather on the stone patio around the fire pit. FIRST FLOOR - Bedroom: queen bed with a Casper mattress - Living room: propane stove, couch and a sofa bed - Kitchen: electric range with oven, medium-size fridge - Bathroom: standing shower with a low tub - Mini split heat / AC - Direct access to the backyard and sauna SECOND FLOOR Reached by a private outside staircase, or by the inside stairs from the first floor. - Living room: big, light-filled and open like a loft, with an L-shaped couch - Kitchen: gas range and oven, kitchen island and dining table overlooking back yard with trees - Bedroom: queen bed, premium mattress - Bathroom: full tub with a handheld shower and white subway tile - Wall-mounted mini split heat and AC THROUGHOUT Rustic floors and old farmhouse character on both levels. Each kitchen has a grinder and French press with our complimentary arabica medium-roast blend, a selection of teas, and filtered drinking water at the tap. Toiletries are from Oneka, a Quebec company making botanical products from plants grown on the family's land. This home is part of Dream House in the Gunks, a small collection of Hudson Valley homes cared for by our local team. Guest access This listing is the entire farmhouse: both floors, the backyard and the sauna, with no other guests on the property. Each floor has its own entrance: the first-floor door, and a private outside staircase to the second floor with a keyless lock. Inside, a staircase connects the two levels, and its doors are unlocked for whole-house stays. Parking is on the property. Other things to note - Each floor of this house is also listed on its own as a separate apartment. When you book this listing, both floors are yours. - The inside staircase opens into the upstairs bedroom. Each floor also has its own outside entrance, so no one needs to pass through to come and go. - This is a 1920 farmhouse without modern sound insulation, so sound carries between the floors. - Water in the Gunks is naturally mineral-rich and can have a faint sulfur smell, stronger in some seasons. It runs through a two-stage treatment system that is professionally serviced, and both kitchen taps have drinking-water filters changed monthly. - A drainage ditch runs along the driveway entrance. Take it slowly if your car sits low. - The propane stove on the first floor runs during heating season.
