The space The Pine Suite and Sauna is a newly remodeled private guest annex in our waterfront home located on Samish Island with its own private entrance overlooking the Songbird garden. It has four rooms: a living room, a bedroom, a cedar sauna with shower, and a bathroom. The bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, wardrobe, refrigerator, electric kettle and microwave. The cozy sitting room has a fireplace and a sleep sofa that can be opened into an additional queen-sized bed. It also has Internet television and free access to Wi-Fi. Samish Island is a hidden gem, nestled in a friendly community of beach homes minutes from Anacortes, Bellingham, LaConner and the I-5 corridor. Conveniently located on the edge of Padilla Bay and Samish Bay, this beautifully scenic area is renowned for its amazing birdlife! Located in Skagit County just a few miles from Skagit Valley, the Tulip Festival, and quaint country towns. No ferry travel is required, but the area retains a super-islandy feel... The Pine Suite and Sauna is attached to a main house that is occupied fulltime, but with its private access and features, offers privacy and the convenience of beachfront living. Featuring a "secret" Songbird garden, private boat ramp, deck chimenea (outdoor fireplace), picnic table and relaxing hammock. The home is located on a no-bank waterfront property facing north looking over Samish Bay and beyond to Bellingham Bay to the distant snow-covered Canadian mountain range with views of the San Juan Islands to the West and Mount Baker to the East. A pebble beach is accessible during low tides where children can play. Swimming when tide is high is very refreshing! If you dare, a cold salt-water plunge is steps away after your sauna. A tranquil walk’s nearby takes you past the Samish Island Community Garden and oyster/clam farms where workers can be seen on the tide flats during low tide. Watching the salmon-run around Fish Point in the fall and stargazing at night from the hammock, with the vast night sky in view with little/no light pollution, are moments enjoyed. Our island is friendly and welcomes walking, jogging, biking, paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing. Samish island also has a community park with a tennis court, (or pickleball!) basketball court and playground with picnic tables. Samish Island is ideally located for visiting Mount Vernon during the Tulip Festival. Other nearby attractions include Larrabee Park and Blanchard Mt. hikes along stunning Chuckanut Drive winding north to Historic Fairhaven, charming LaConner with the Rainbow Bridge and Daffodil Festival, Anacortes with the ferry terminal to the San Juan Islands, and breathtaking elevated Deception Pass Bridge Park on the way to Whidbey Island. The small town of Edison is only 10 minutes away with cafes, restaurants and galleries. This small community of Bow/Edison is becoming quite popular for its artisan bread, local cheese, gourmet food and wine shop, blueberry farm specialties, wood fired pizza and taqueria.
