Gorgeous 1-bed gîte with private patio & pool

The jewel in the crown at Le Petit Bois is our Maison d'ami. Converted from the old stone farmhouse, bread oven & piggery, great care has been taken in retaining old beams, cobbled floors & original features, which, combined with the modern facilities of a walk-in shower room, fully equipped kitchen, outside under cover dining, secluded private patio, use of the nearby luxury pool & a pellet burner for colder months, offers couples the ideal romantic Corrèzian retreat at any time of the year. The space The main living area is open to the beautiful rafters and the original cobbled floor in the sitting area has been retained around the huge original open fireplace which now contains a pellet burner. Two comfortable leather armchairs and a large upholstered footstool by the fireplace invite you to curl up after a long walk with a glass of something delicious, read or watch TV and discuss plans for the following day. Through a little doorway in the old stone wall on the left of the sitting area, behind the fireplace, you will find the kitchen, which used to be the old bread oven. Fitted with wooden worktop and sleek grey cupboards housing everything you need to rustle up romantic feasts for your loved one or for packing up a picnic and heading out into the Corrèzian countryside for a secluded picnic. There's an induction hob, electric oven/microwave, a dishwasher, and a fridge with an icebox. A small table for two for lazy breakfasts, late lunches and decadent dinners sits under the window looking out to the pool garden beyond. To the right of the sitting area and partially screened for privacy, is the bedroom. The super-king bed is comfortable and welcoming. You'll easily fall asleep to the hooting of owls and the rustling trees. Wake up refreshed and relaxed listening to the birdsong and enjoy a lazy cup of tea in bed each morning! Next to this you will find the bathroom, complete with walk-in shower, loo, hand basin and heated towel caddy to keep towels warm and fluffy. There is another door in the kitchen that opens straight out to the old piggery with views onto the courtyard between the main house and barn. In recent years it has been renovated with a new slate roof and exposed rafters. In winter it works well as a place to shrug off the muddy or wet clothes and boots and hang them to dry. But on warmer days it really comes into its element as a larger dining and sitting area with a lovely rustic scrubbed pine table and old church pew. Guest access Guests booking their stay at our Maison d'ami will have exclusive use of the accommodation, together with it's on patio, and converted piggery as well as off-road parking for one car. They will also be able to use the pool when it is open/in season. Other things to note We have a fully equipped laundry room and for a small charge are happy to put on a load of washing which you will be able to dry on an airer or on the outside line, weather permitting. Please also ask for the iron and board, if needed. We are on hand should there be anything else you require or have forgotten, please do not hesitate to ask.
