Vacation rental "Alte Werkstatt" in the hedgehog nest Großthiemig

Our apartment with the theme "Old Workshop" is located in a 100-year-old building. Where people used to work, you can now stay overnight. In order to preserve the character of the building, old finds from this period have been lovingly restored and invite you to explore. Quietly located on the village stream, you can linger here and recharge. The use of natural building materials such as wood and clay creates a cozy indoor climate that supports relaxation. The space An old barn was extensively restored by us and converted into two apartments and a double room. The result is the "hedgehog nest" with two very individual accommodations. Since April 2022, the apartment "Alte Werkstatt" has been available for guests. On the first floor you will find the apartment "Alte Werkstatt." This is beautifully rustically furnished with lots of wood and metal - like in an old workshop. Old barn finds have been lovingly refurbished and are now part of the authentic inventory (e.g. the fantastic workbench or the washbasin from an old beet press) The apartment can accommodate a maximum of 4 people. A large bed is located in the open living area, a bunk bed in a separate room. The apartment is barrier-free and can be reached without thresholds from the parking lot. Roll-under sink, handle bar on the toilet, floor-level large shower, wide doors and plenty of space in the entrance area and next to the bed ensure a relaxing stay even for wheelchair users. A well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, fridge, stovetop and coffee maker is available. Also available are basic ingredients such as flour, coffee, salt and spices. A washing machine is also available if a long stay is planned. In the garden you will find a playground with climbing walls, play towers and a slide in the large sandbox 5 m x 6 m. Natural building materials such as clay and wood were used for the expansion. The modern wall heating in the walls is powered by a sustainable geothermal heat pump. Due to the massive quarry stone walls, you do not need air conditioning. The apartment remains pleasantly cool even in the middle of summer. A large free parking space on the premises is available as well as a charging station for electric cars. Quietly located by the village stream, you can linger here and recharge. Thanks to the good connection and central location, you can easily explore the entire region. Great excursion destinations next to Dresden and the Spreewald are e.g. Senftenberg with its huge lake landscape, Moritzburg with the "Cinderella" castle or Radebeul with the Lößnitzgrundbahn (ride with a real steam locomotive). In the immediate vicinity (easily accessible on foot or by bike) there is, for example, the Heideberg Tower as the crowning glory of the Heideberg circular route (length: 8 km, mostly paved). The 34 m high tower is built on the highest topographical elevation in Brandenburg. With good visibility, you can see the mountains of Upper Lusatia, the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, the Monument to the Battle of the Nations in Leipzig or the Königstein Fortress in Saxon Switzerland from the observation deck. Guest access Guests have their own access to your apartment. The outdoor area in front of/behind/next to the house as well as the spacious parking lot can be used by visitors of both apartments. Other things to note The apartment is located in Großthiemig about 7 minutes from the Ortrand highway exit (A13). So you are in Dresden Neustadt in about 25 minutes and in the opposite direction in the Spreewald in about 45 minutes.
