We are located on a quiet street near the center of historic Hyde Park and we hope these newly renovated and decorated rooms will feel like your home away from home. The larger "Green Oak Room" has a queen sized bed, sitting area and refreshment bar with a refrigerator, coffee maker, TV, air conditioning and free WiFi. The smaller "Red Oak Room" is cozy with a full sized bed, television, air conditioning and free WiFi in the house for your use. These rooms can be reserved together or separately, however there is a shared bath. There is plenty of free parking and a private entrance through the garage. We are in the middle of so many historic sites, you won't know which ones to visit to say nothing of being only 10 minutes north of the Poughkeepsie train station or 10 minutes south of Rhinebeck, NY with it's quaint shops. Along with historic sites such as the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt homes and museums, the Vanderbilt and Mills mansions, we have both Marist College and the Culinary Institute of America with it 4 public restaurants. We also have the Omega Institute about 20 minutes away. For the outdoors enthusiast, we have a whole system of hiking and biking trails...both through wood and forests as well as along the Hudson River. You may also take the opportunity to rent a kayak from The River Connection and see something of our town from the river's edge. We hope you will come visit us soon....we enjoy company but respect privacy. The rooms available to our guests are part of the east end of our home. Guests have their own entrance thru the basement and are welcome to relax in the yard. We love to welcome our guests and are usually available for questions or needs. Our neighborhood is central to 2 main highways but is very quiet. We are on a country road with lots of trees but no sidewalks or street lights Unfortunately, we do not have public transportation on our road. It is a walkable distance to a main road but not good walking (URL HIDDEN) sidewalks and narrow roads. There are limited modes of transportation in our area. Guest coming here via the train, should look for a rental car for their stay.
