Description
4WD/AWD REQUIRED!! Secluded and cozy cabin overlooking the Shenandoah River and bordering the George Washington National Forest. The 750 sq ft cabin features a wood fireplace, wrap around deck, screened in porch, outdoor fire pit, and hot tub. The cabin is a hiker’s dream with a private access trail leading to the Massanutten Circuit Trail. Guests can also enjoy access to the Shenandoah River. **Please Note: Driveway is Steep -- AWD/4WD REQUIRED at all times.” Other things to note Please read the following prior to booking: DRIVEWAY. Due to the steepness of the driveway, a vehicle with AWD/4WD vehicle is REQUIRED at ALL times, regardless of the time of year. We cannot stress this enough! Some guests say that it is the steepest driveway they have ever traveled...it is no joke!! In addition, the bottom of the driveway is privately owned so parking and walking is not an option. INCLEMENT WEATHER. Safety is a huge priority for us! If during the winter there is ice/snow, the driveway could potentially be too dangerous to travel. If the driveway is unsafe to travel, we will inform guests as soon as possible and discuss their options. LOW WATER BRIDGE. In order to access the cabin, guests will need to cross the Shenandoah River by means of a low water bridge. Occasionally, flooding can occur, and guests will not be able to enter or exit the property during that time. We will notify guests if that is a possibility and accommodate accordingly. INSECTS. Since the cabin is surrounded by nature and fairly close to a river, insects can be plentiful. We try to provide a variety of deterrents such as bug spray and citronella candles to help minimize them from joining your party.
