Parking: Free, on-street parking. We live upstairs in the host home. Knock on our door or text if you want restaurant or outing suggestions. Otherwise, we're pretty much hands-off hosts. Also, you may run into Lunchie during your stay. Lunchie is our neighbor's cat. He loves getting loves from people, but we NEVER let him into the apartment. We are conscious of guests who may have allergies, and want to ensure the unit is comfortable for all. Close-in NE Portland. Quick walk to restaurants & shops in Portland's Alberta Arts district. Less than a mile from Mississippi & Williams Avenue areas and a two mile straight shot down to the Oregon Convention Center. 2 blocks from grocery. Portland is full of delicious food & drink, you can’t go wrong, no matter what you choose. Here are some of my favorites, with distance from unit, in no particular order: - Petite Provence. ¾ mile. 1824 NE Alberta. Breakfast/lunch/dinner, bakery. The most delicious croissants I’ve ever had, served with raspberry jam. Love the corned beef hash for breakfast, and the small-plate selection for dinner. - J&M Cafe. 2.5 miles. 537 SE Ash St. Breakfast/lunch. Eclectic spins on scrambles and other breakfast standards. - Grain & Gristle. ¾ mile. 1473 NE Prescott. Dinner & drinks. My favorite item is the “Two-fer” .. 2 beers, and shareable entree with meat & veg. - Podnah’s. 1 mile. 1625 NE Killingsworth. BBQ - Texas Style - LaTaq. 1 mile. 1625 NE Killingsworth (next to Podnah’s) Tex-Mex. Fantastic margaritas. Love the pork/chili dish, and the queso & chips. - Bridges. 1 mile. 2716 NE ML King Jr. Blvd Breakfast/lunch. Solid basics. Delicious, super grainy, house toast. - Keys Lounge. ⅓ mile. 533 NE Killingsworth St 50’s inspired cocktail bar. Fireplace, records & turntable. - Les Caves. ¾ mile. 1719 NE Alberta Cool basement wine bar - Random Order. ¾ mile. 1800 NE Alberta Delicious Pie shop & small cocktail menu And, because I love, love, love flaming food made table-side … a few of those: - Wilfs. 800 NW 6th (in Train station) High-backed chairs, evening jazz. Tableside: Steak Diane, Caesar Salad, Bananas Foster - Huber’s 411 SW 3rd One of the oldest bars in Portland. Tableside: Spanish coffee. - Salty’s on the Columbia. 3839 NE Marine Drive Right on the water. Tableside: Baked Alaska Grocery: - Natural Grocers. 2 blocks. 5055 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd Mid-sized, mostly organic, but you can get all the basics … milk, eggs, produce, small meat section, some canned & packaged foods, freezer items, beer/wine. - Safeway. ½ mile. 5920 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd Full size grocery store with all the basics, plus bakery, floral, & deli departments - Alberta Coop. ½ mile. 1500 NE Alberta St, Health food co-op. - New Seasons. 1 mile. 3445 N Williams Ave or 6400 N Interstate Ave (each about 1mi away) Full size grocery with bakery, floral, meat, deli, cheese. Focus on organics, locally made. Local favorite! - Fred Meyer. 1.5 miles. 7404 N Interstate Ave Full grocery, plus housewares, clothing, electronics. One-stop shopping. - Local Farmer's Market 2 blocks away - Every Sunday, May - October - Walkscore of 92! - Near stops for TriMet #6, #72, and #8 - Nike Biketown for bike rental - 2 miles to Oregon Convention Center, 15 minutes by either bike or bus - 3 miles from Downtown - approx 20 minutes by bike - 8 miles to Portland International Airport - approx 20 minutes by car Bed made with feather pillows. Two different types of foam-filled pillows available in unit. Hot water is via on-demand system. It takes a bit to get to the taps, but plentiful once it heats up. Some cell carriers have difficulty getting phone coverage from the apartment, however Wi-Fi calling works well. Absolutely no burning, smoking, or vaping if any kind.
