Perfect place for 2 guests (max) in a walk out level guest suite located in the suburbs of Kalamazoo. Safe, beautiful and peaceful neighborhood! NO SHARED SPACES/SEPARATE OUTDOOR ENTRANCE WITH KEYPAD. Relax in a large suite with queen bed, remodeled bathroom, kitchenette, desk, and 40” HD tv with Roku. Less than 1 mile from West Main Street, US 131, KalHaven Trail and many stores and restaurants. WMU, Kalamazoo College, Bronson Hospital, I94 and downtown are all just a 10-15 minute drive. The space THE LOCATION Located in the quiet suburbs of Kalamazoo, MI but LESS than a mile from US 131 and West Main Street (M43). I-94 is just about a 5 minute drive. The Downtown Kalamazoo area is about a 10 minute drive. We are also located in close driving proximity to Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. The Kal Haven crushed limestone trailhead is located just 1.5 miles away and is perfect for a nature stroll or if you’re an adventurer, you can bike all the way to Lake Michigan! The beautiful shores of Lake Michigan are just a 45 minute drive West. THE LARGE SPACE This is a large guest suite. It’s located on the walk out, garden level of my single family home in Kalamazoo, MI (Oshtemo Township). It is about 700 square feet and there are NO stairs to access the space or within it (you do have to step up to the curb, onto the sidewalk from the street). On street parking is less than 50 feet from the entrance, making coming and going with your luggage fast and convenient. This is an open concept space, with a comfortable queen size bed, loveseat, 40” HD tv with Roku and DVD player, kitchenette (NO STOVE/OVEN), BRAND NEW en suite bathroom and walk in closet. You will love the thoughtful extra touches such as a luggage rack, first aid kit, extension cord, ironing board, fan, hair dryer, full length mirror, nightlights, wine opener and wine glasses, shot glasses, beer mugs, playing cards, board games, puzzles, reading materials, DVD’s and much more! THE CLEANLINESS I do all of the cleaning myself and pride myself on extreme cleanliness! There will never be any shortcuts taken. ALL of the linens are washed between guests, every time. You will ALWAYS have clean sheets, pillows, towels, wash cloths and blankets plus extras in the closet. The bathroom and kitchenette will always be disinfected between guests. I spend hours meticulously cleaning between guests. I provide shampoo, body soap, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towel and cleaning supplies. THE HOST I care! You are guaranteed a clean, welcoming stay. I have been hosting for 8 years and have hosted hundreds of guests! I always answer messages quickly and consider hosting to be my profession. I am happy to help and I want you to love my place as much as I do! Please keep in mind that this is a guest suite located in a single family home on the basement, walk out level and as such, the amenities are limited. There is not a stove, air conditioner or washer/dryer BUT most guests find the full size kitchen sink, fridge/freezer, toaster and microwave to be sufficient. PLUS, the guest suite stays naturally cool in summer, due to being located on the garden level of the home with lots of shade trees surrounding it and the home above it being central air conditioned. If the windows and drapes are kept closed during the afternoon, the temperature rarely exceeds 70 degrees even in 90 degree outdoor heat. A fan is provided for your comfort and I am able to recool the space as necessary, since the upper level has central A/C. The guest suite includes one queen bed. If needed, an air mattress can be set up upon request for the second guest with a minimum of 24 hour notice. *THIS GUEST SUITE IS COMPLETELY PRIVATE AND DOES NOT SHARE ANY SPACE WITH THE HOMEOWNER, but I live upstairs with my husband and 2 (older) children and there definitely is some noise transfer.* Cable tv is not provided; however, you can sign in via the provided Roku with your own cable subscriber, Netflix, Hulu or Amazon accounts. You can also access lots of free apps and channels already downloaded for you or enjoy one of more than 200 DVD’s provided! PLEASE NOTE-Animals are NOT allowed in the home or on the property. Service animals trained to perform a task for their owner, that stay with their owner 24/7 are welcome. The service animal must NOT be left alone at anytime. Emotional support animals are NOT service animals and are not accepted due to the homeowner’s allergies. There is plenty of free, on street parking, right in front of the guest entrance (NO DRIVEWAY PARKING). Other than the street curb, there are no stairs inside or outside the guest suite making it easily accessible.
