Your hosts, Marikathryn and Jim Oakley warmly welcome families, small groups and couples to their lakeside retreat, where lasting memories are made. You will have access to canoe, paddle boat, life jackets and docking. For motorized water sports, the public boat landing is less than half a mile away. The lake is no wake prior to 10AM and after 5PM for peaceful mornings with coffee on the deck and evenings around the firepit. The south side of the lake boasts a shallow sandbar where watercraft and friends gather to float, party or play frisbee. We are sorry - no pets are allowed and no events with more than eight people without prior approval. This is out of respect for the neighbors and the septic system! Guests have access to the entire cottage and property. Your hosts are always available by phone! Relax or be as active as you like! Find hiking, tennis and groomed cross country trails five minutes away at Kusel Lake County Park. Fifteeen minutes away is Nordic Mountain ski and tubing hill in Mt. Morris, also known for competitive mountain biking trails in summer. Evergreen Campground is just down the road with small grocery store and restaurant open to the public. Pontoon boats can also be rented at the campground. 20 minutes away is Waupaca, a vacation mecca known for specialty shops, river rafting, entertainment, paddle boat rides and lakeside drinks and dining at Clearwater Harbor. The Oshkosh Experimental Aircraft grounds and museum are an easy 45 minute drive from here. For a great and reasonable breakfast, try the Corner Cafe in Saxeville. Also nearby are picturesque covered bridges, antique shops, mini golf and ice cream at Roseville, and the historic Red Mill Coffee Shop and Country Store/Cafe. Hiking trails at Mt. Morris Park and Kusel Lake County Park.
