Description

Escape to a bygone era at our charming 1880's Vernacular Victorian-style farmhouse. Immerse yourself in history, surrounded by Lacy family heirlooms. Enjoy the perfect blend of nostalgia & modern convenience. We have good wifi & cell service. We welcome children but they will need supervision. Nov 1 - Jan 10 children are discouraged due to the Christmas decor. Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets. Experience the warmth & hospitality of our historic farmhouse B&B. Book your stay today. The space The yard area has lots of flowers, picnic area and cool outdoor sitting area. There is a fire pit and charcoal grill. Firewood and charcoal is available to purchase on site. A chicken coop in the back yard provides some interesting entertainment and Oreo the Rooster will impress you with his crowing but he will not wake you up! He can't be heard from the bedrooms. Also in the back yard is a cut flower garden. Guests are welcome to stroll through the garden, have lunch or dinner at the gazebo in the garden and cut a bouquet to take home. It's a beautiful place to have a meal, a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Emily's is not just a place to lay your head while on a trip, its an experience. It's a comfortable home away from home. We have opened the historic family home to guests in honor of Emily (my Mother-in-law). This house is her legacy, and is full of antiques and other artifacts from days gone by. Guests have used the following phrases to describe Emily's: southern hospitality, charming, homey and comfortable, history and hospitality, unique historic home, full of charm and character, a hidden gem, amazing and unique experience, straight out of a storybook, delightful historic homestead. Guest access You will have access to as many bedrooms and bathrooms as you need for your number of guests as well as the living room, gameroom, kitchen and dining room. No other guests (or the innkeeper) will be in the house. Other things to note I DO NOT CHARGE A HOUSEKEEPING FEE OR ANY OTHER FEES (the exception is laundry services for guests’ personal items). .Any additional fees are by ABNB. The only TV in the house is located in the game room, which also serves as a bedroom. The sleeping areas are separated from the tv/pool table space with permanent half wall partitions. Be aware the ceilings in the house are SHORT. If you are over 6' tall, you will need to duck under door jams and light fixtures. Many of my guests choose to eat breakfast out at one of the many excellent restaurants in the area. For this reason, if you prefer breakfast in house you must state such at the time of booking. Breakfast is usually “grab&go” such as yeast cinnamon rolls, buttermilk biscuit breakfast sandwiches or a breakfast bowl. Always homemade, always delicious. If you choose to cook in the house be aware you are responsible for washing dishes (there is no dishwasher) and cleaning up after yourself. DO NOT POUR GREASE DOWN THE SINK. There will be almost an immediate drainage problem and you will be charged for the plumber’s house-call.
